An Avondale Morning at Six Months

If you’re looking for an Avondale milestone photographer in Chicago who will just show up and let your family be exactly who they are, this is what that looks like. Some families just feel like home the moment you walk in, and this one has felt that way since the very beginning. Also did I stop and grabbed a coffee at Milli by Metric before my session? absolutely.

I first met this sweet family when mama was still growing their little guy, out at Northerly Island with the planetarium behind her and that golden light doing everything right. Then came the newborn session, all quiet and brand new and overwhelming in the best way. And now here we are six months in, and this boy is thriving.

He was so warm. So smiley. The kind of baby who looks right at you like he already knows you, which honestly, maybe he did. He’s sitting up now, grabbing everything in sight, and absolutely drooling over life in the best way. His older sis lol . The pup with the flower collar — was never far. Watching the two of them check each other out through the crib rails was one of those moments I just wanted to live in a little longer.

Avondale Milestone Photographer | Morning Light and Bubbles

We started in his nursery, that soft morning light just doing the most. There’s something about a well-loved baby room that always gets me. The little details, the stuffed clouds on the wall, the crib that’s already been through so much in just six short months. Then we headed outside for bubbles. Because six months old and bubbles is basically a perfect combination and I will never not love that. Being an Avondale milestone photographer in Chicago means I capture their little changing everythings.

His Food Era Has Officially Arrived

Because this boy is firmly in his food era, we wrapped up inside with lunch. Avocado everywhere — hands, face, high chair, all of it. The excitement and concentration on his little face was everything. No posing, no performing. Just a Tuesday morning in Avondale that happened to be really, really beautiful.
