Evanston IL Family Photographer | Lou’s 6-Month Session

    Evanston IL family photographer

As an Evanston IL family photographer, I have the unique privilege of watching families grow and change in a very short amount of time. I photographed this sweet little baby’s newborn session earlier this year, and I recently got the chance to see the tremendous growth that can happen in just six months. Specifically, it is amazing to see how much a baby’s personality begins to shine through at this age.

While time often feels like it moves slowly during those first few weeks of newborn struggles, it suddenly feels like you are half a year into brand new territory. Because of this, 6-month milestone photos are some of my favorites to capture. This family is so beautiful, and they are completely obsessed with their little girl. Consequently, every image we captured was filled with genuine joy and connection.

Why Your Evanston Family Photography Milestone Matters

First, we used their beautiful neighborhood as the background for this catch-up session. I love the idea of Lou getting older and seeing how much her neighborhood has changed over the years. In addition, seeing her younger parents in front of places she’s grown to love adds such a sentimental layer to the gallery. Furthermore, choosing an outdoor location allowed the family to move naturally and stay relaxed. Seeing this family grow as a Chicago Family Photographer is amazing.

Although the weather can be unpredictable, the light in Evanston is always stunning for portraits. If you are looking for an Evanston IL family photographer, I highly recommend exploring your own backyard or local park. As a result, the photos will feel deeply personal and timeless. Why This Evanston IL Family Photographer: Choosing the Perfect Location

Then, we focused on the simple details—the way Lou looks at her parents and the way they embrace her. Soon, these moments will become distant memories as she moves into toddlerhood. For instance, capturing the way she sits up on her own is a milestone worth celebrating.

Finally, I want to thank this family for trusting me again. Being an Evanston IL family photographer is about more than just pictures; it is about documenting a family’s history as it unfolds.

Oh my heart. This sweet baby girl is basically the poster child for a happy baby. If I had a penny for every smile and coo she blessed me with during our session together, I would be a very wealthy woman. She is just so loved. This session for a West Town family photographer was truly a highlight of my summer because of the pure joy this family radiates.

As a West Town family photographer, heading to this neighborhood for an urban session is always a fun experience. Plus, I got to indulge and shop around this amazing Chicago area. This neighborhood has such a unique energy that perfectly complements a documentary-style session.

The Beauty of West Town Family Photography

Walking through the streets, I was immediately drawn to the local art. Because the famous mural wall belongs to West Town Bakery, we had the perfect colorful backdrop for our morning. Their pastries are just as beautiful as their art, making it a must-stop spot for any family wandering the neighborhood. This family in front of those textures was just the cherry on top.

Documenting families in their element is what I love most. Whether we are exploring city murals or capturing an at-home newborn lifestyle session, the goal is always the same: to create a visual legacy. While I often work as a River Forest family photographer, the vibrant streets of West Town offer a different kind of magic.

Every family has a unique rhythm, and my job is to find it. By leaning into the unscripted moments, we create images that feel like a true reflection of your life. If you want to learn more about how I work, you can explore The Experience to see my philosophy on unposed storytelling. I hope you enjoy this session as much as I enjoyed capturing it!

3 Month Baby Photographer Chicago | Baby Alex

If you’ve been told that a 3 month baby photographer Chicago session isn’t worth it because babies can’t sit up yet I’m here to change your mind. Baby Alex is living proof that three months is one of the most magical ages to photograph.

I first met Alex at his birth, where he made a very vocal entrance into the world at a downtown Chicago hospital. Seeing him again at three months, I couldn’t believe how alert and present he had become. His eyes were wide open, taking everything in. He was smiling, cooing, and just radiating that brand new human energy that goes by way too fast.I made it, I finally got to see this beautiful boy again.

Why Chicago Parents Love 3 Month Baby Sessions

A lot of photographers skip this age because babies aren’t doing “tricks” yet — no sitting, no crawling, no walking. But that’s exactly the point. At three months your baby still needs you completely. They curl into your chest, they lock eyes with you, they smile that gummy smile that stops your heart. That’s everything.

As a Chicago family photographer who specializes in documentary-style sessions, I’m not looking for posed moments anyway. I’m looking for the real ones — and three months delivers in spades.

If you’re pregnant or just had your baby and you’re thinking about a newborn session, consider adding a 3 month follow-up. You’ll be so glad you did.

Whether you’re in the city or the west suburbs, booking a 3 month baby photographer Chicago families trust means getting images that capture this fleeting stage before it’s gone. Babies change so fast — what feels like yesterday becomes a blur. These sessions exist to slow that down, even just for an afternoon.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the 3 month mark is a major developmental milestone — making it the perfect time to document.

Geneva IL milestone photography | 6-Month Session

I am still in awe of how quickly time passes. Even after having my own two children, I can never quite believe that the days fly as fast as they do. Currently, I have the distinct honor of capturing sweet little H’s entire first year of life. Notably, I have been documenting his story since he was still in his mom’s belly. Because of this, specialized Geneva IL milestone photography has become such a rewarding way to see him grow and change. Being a photographer is such a rewarding job, seeing these families grow and become more is so Beautiful. I can’t believe how much this baby has already changed.

Capturing Joy with Geneva IL Milestone Photography

As a specialist in Geneva IL milestone photography, I strive to capture the authentic light that children radiate during these fleeting stages. Little H is the perfect example of that pure, unposed joy. Initially, we started with maternity portraits, and now we are celebrating his six-month milestone. Furthermore, I am already so excited for our next session together as he continues to reach new heights.

The six-month mark is one of my favorite ages to document. For instance, babies are often sitting up and showing so much personality at this stage. Whether they are giggling at a favorite toy or simply curious about the world around them, these moments are the heart of my work. In addition, I love working in Geneva because the local community values these soulful, unscripted family stories.

If you are looking for a way to remember these precious months, you can see more of my documentary style on my Chicago family photography  portfolio. Additionally, I often suggest families visit local spots like the Fabyan Forest Preserve (Outbound Link) for beautiful outdoor backdrops in the area.
