    This La Grange newborn photography session was a truly dreamy morning. We originally rescheduled our date due to a dreary day, and we were rewarded with the kind of sunshiny, beautiful light that proves light really is everything. It transformed their home into the perfect canvas for the session.

    One of my favorite things as a Newborn Photographer is to capture is the way a new baby brings a home to life, and for this session, that included their beloved dogs! We intentionally used different locations throughout their home to bring some of their favorite Pinterest inspirations to life. It is so important to me that my clients walk away with those sought-after, honest images they adore—the ones that feel like a perfect blend of their real life and a bit of magic.

    Their First Baby, Their First Days

    This was their first, and everything that comes with that showed up right there in the room. Mom held him so carefully. Dad’s hand found her back at the crib without even thinking about it. Those aren’t posed moments they just happen naturally, and my job is to stay quiet enough to catch them.

    Baby was wide-eyed and alert for most of our time together. Those blue eyes, that little red hair peeking out from his white knit bonnet I could have photographed his face for hours. Meanwhile, mom was radiant in the most beautiful navy dress, glowing against all that creamy window light. She was exhausted and stunning and so present. I truly hope she sees herself the way I saw her through my lens.

    A Session Close to My Heart

    What a stunning Light-Filled Newborn Photography session this was. Every newborn session is special, but this one tugged at my heartstrings even more.     There is a special place in my heart for this family, and capturing this Farmhouse newborn session Chicago  was an absolute joy. My dear friend Kayla recently welcomed her sixth lovely boy, Sully, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Their home is always filled with an incredible energy, everyone is so sweet, caring, and welcoming.

    Kayla and her husband are doing an incredible job raising these boys. Every time I visit for a session, I’m struck by how much fun we have. They make my job as a photographer so easy because their empathy and love truly overflow. On this occasion, I brought over some yummy cinnamon rolls from Whole Foods, and for that hour, I think I was officially their favorite person!
