    As an Oak Park birth photographer, I was thrilled to capture Abby’s incredible home birth journey. When I am on call for birth photography, my backpack is always ready. Fortunately, this was a good thing because this little one arrived very quickly!

    I was actually at a networking event when I received the call. Immediately, I headed to Oak Park. My client shared that her water broke while she was enjoying a festival. Clearly, this proves how unpredictable birth can be!

    The Call for an Oak Park Birth Photographer

    The call came in around mid-afternoon. Suddenly, everything shifted into focus. Abby’s partner called me to say that labor was progressing fast. Consequently, the adrenaline started pumping. Because I have learned to be ready for anything, I grabbed my gear and left right away. Even though Chicago traffic can be tricky, I made great time to the house.

    Creating a Calm Home Birth Environment

    Walking into their home, I immediately felt a calm atmosphere. String lights twinkled softly while calming music played. Furthermore, the older children were playing quietly nearby. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of being an Oak Park birth photographer. In contrast to a hospital, a home birth allows for a truly intimate and personal experience.

    Abby was incredible.     Then, just like that, a new life entered the world. It was pure magic. I captured the first cries and the first moments of skin-to-skin contact. Afterward, I photographed the quiet moments of bonding and breastfeeding. Because these beginnings are so fleeting, I make sure to document every detail. Ultimately, it is an honor to preserve these memories for families.

    As a Garfield Park family photographer, I love how the light transforms this Chicago gem. Even though we had a very rainy October, we finally caught a break. Fortunately, the stars aligned for a spectacular golden hour session.

    First, we explored the area near the water. Because the trees were at their peak, the colors were breathtaking. This sweet family was a joy to work with. In fact, their little boy was all smiles despite the crisp autumn air.

    Why I Love Being a Garfield Park Family Photographer

    Additionally, Garfield Park offers a lot of variety for parents. While the conservatory is famous, the outdoor gardens are equally stunning. As a result, kids have plenty of space to run and play. Typically, this leads to more natural and candid photos.

    Furthermore, the late afternoon sun creates a warm glow near the lagoon. If you are looking for a family photographer, I recommend booking in late October. This is because the foliage provides a perfect, rustic backdrop.

    I love that a Chicago skyline newborn photography session is possible on warm clear days. I saw Sam twice this season. First, I did his Fresh 48 session. Then, we did this session downtown. Because his family is moving away, we needed the city views. Consequently, Sam will always know his roots.

    The weather was perfect for an outdoor newborn session. Specifically, it was a warm fall day. Therefore, the baby was very comfortable. In fact, the light by the lake was very soft. As a result, Sam stayed asleep for most of the shoot. Furthermore, the city buildings looked great in the background. Meanwhile, we focused on Sam’s tiny details.

    Why I Love Chicago skyline newborn photography

    Additionally, a downtown session is very iconic. For example, the lakefront offers a clean look. Therefore, it is a popular choice for families. Instead of a studio, we chose the outdoors. Overall, the session was a big success. If you want Chicago skyline newborn photography, the lake is the best spot.

    Not to mention parking getting here was not that difficult, I love north ave beach and the multiple ways I can use this location for my clients. The skyline here is the best part of this place. It’s so fun to incorporate movement and beauty from it to my clients gallery.

    Working with repeat customers as an Lakeview Chicago newborn photography is incredibly special. I love seeing little siblings join these beautiful families. Specifically, I get to see how older siblings are changing while celebrating parents’ new milestones.     We structured this session around giving big sister a break. She joined the session late after I got all of the newborn images I love to achieve. Furthermore, Little Miss Reese had grown so much since I last saw her.     Additionally, an outdoor session offers a unique backdrop. Lakeview was so many beautiful outdoor places. Doing this Lakeview Chicago newborn photography session near the Diversey Natural area was so easy to reach and perfect for working with families. Because we were in a forest setting, the light was very soft and natural. Instead of a studio, the family chose the beauty of nature. Overall, the session was a big success. If you are looking for something different, an outdoor shoot is a wonderful option. Therefore, I always encourage families to consider the local parks.

    Moreover, I find that the natural environment helps older children relax. Since they have room to run, they don’t feel pressured. As a result, we get more candid and joyful images. Whether it is a summer morning or a golden hour evening, the results are stunning. Meanwhile, we made sure to keep the baby comfortable and safe.

    Chicago baby photographer at home | One Month Session

    I’m always amazed at how much a baby changes in just a few weeks. Little G was one of my dear birth photography babies. He had some complications that kept him in the hospital longer than expected. Specifically, I am so happy he is healthy and thriving now. As a Chicago baby photographer at home, I loved finally seeing him in his own nursery.

    His nursery was Toy Story themed. Furthermore, the clouds on the walls reminded me of Andy’s room! It brought so much nostalgia to the day. It was a beautiful session with such an easy-going sweet little boy. Consequently, you can see the family’s joy in every photograph.

    Additionally, an in-home session allows for a relaxed pace. Because babies can be unpredictable, being in a familiar environment helps everyone. In fact, we took breaks whenever he needed a cuddle. Overall, being a Chicago baby photographer at home allows me to document authentic moments. Instead of a studio, the nursery provided a perfect, meaningful backdrop for this story.

    Moreover, I love returning to families I have worked with before. Since I photographed his birth, seeing him at one month old was very special. Therefore, the connection was already there. As a result, the parents felt comfortable and relaxed. Whether it was a close-up of his tiny feet or a shot of the whole family, the magic was everywhere.

    Their faces always show a mix of awe, curiosity, and concern. This is especially true after I mention home birth. However, it fills me with great joy to do such a unique job.     While every session is unique, this one felt particularly effortless. Little Oliver was bashful and full of smiles throughout the morning. Additionally, he even slept a little for us, allowing me to get those sweet, sleepy photographs that parents always cherish. Because I am a Chicago At-Home Newborn Photographer, we were able to incorporate the family’s real-life environment. Consequently, the disco ball in the nursery created a fun, modern vibe. Similarly, the natural light in the room danced in a way that felt like magic.

    Avondale Chicago Newborn Photographer: Phoebe’s Lifestyle Session

    Finding an Avondale Chicago newborn photographer who can capture the beautiful chaos of life with a new baby and a toddler is so important. I first met Phoebe’s mom at a photoshoot a few years back, and since Katie is incredibly sweet, I knew her family would be a reflection of that. Specifically, they over-delivered on kindness and awesomeness during our time together!.

    While every session is a unique story, I love that this one highlighted the transition of becoming a big brother. We enjoyed a very slow-paced morning on a lovely, typically gloomy day in Chicago. Because I am an  Chicago newborn photographer, I love documenting how families make their city spaces feel so warm and cozy. Life with two babies is definitely a change, but I think this family is absolutely killing it.

    I am so grateful for the lovely evergreens that stand tall even in the middle of a Chicago winter. This beauty of a family reached out a little later than usual for their portraits, and I am so glad they did. Fortunately, the evergreens served as a perfect, lush backdrop for our Oak Brook photographer session together. Finding pockets of nature that stay green year-round is a dream for any local photographer.

    Capturing Personalities During Your Oak Brook Photographer Session

    The two brothers in this family were absolutely hilarious. Specifically, they are at that superbly cool age where they are truly becoming their own people. Their unique personalities shined through in every frame! In addition, we were blessed with some stunning golden hour sunlight that made the entire park glow. When you combine gorgeous people, awesome personalities, and perfect weather, there isn’t much more I could ask for.

    Motion and Art: Fun with the Cockroft Family

    Towards the end of the session, we decided to have some fun with motion. Indeed, I loved how willing the boys were to help me create some “cool art” for their home. I asked them to jump, run, and move back and forth to capture that authentic, candid energy.

    Ultimately, this Oak Brook photographer session reminded me why I love documenting local families.
