A Stress-Free Experience for New Parents

What a little ray of sunshine this session was. In fact, when I say I love my job, I mean it to the fullest extent. I previously met Arden’s parents during their beautiful maternity session. Because of this connection, we were able to create a very relaxed environment.

Most importantly, as a Chicago Newborn Photographer I want my clients to experience a stress-free session. This session felt effortless and beautiful. It was full of white noise and plenty of baby snuggles. Furthermore, we focused on the tiny details. We captured the curl of a finger and the way Arden looked so small in her parents’ arms.

I’ve had quite a baby boom with clients recently! It’s been beautiful to get to meet all these new expectant parents. Specifically, there is so much excitement in the air for this new start. Marlow and Tarek are here celebrating their soon-to-be new daughter in these photographs. They were an absolute blast to work with during their Oak Park maternity session. Capturing images is always a celebration. Thankfully, I am so lucky I get to be a part of it. But honestly, how stunning does Marlow look? You could just feel all of the joy radiating from her throughout the evening as we explored the forest paths together.

Chasing the Golden Hour in the Forest

We chose a beautiful wooded area for our portraits to ensure a private and serene atmosphere. For instance, the way the sunset filtered through the trees created a dreamlike atmosphere that is hard to replicate elsewhere. In addition, the natural greenery of the forest provided a timeless backdrop for the couple. I love how the light caught Marlow’s dress as she moved. Consequently, every frame captured the magic of this waiting period.

As a result of the warm weather and the couple’s playful energy, we were able to get so many authentic moments. Looking back, the laughter was the best part of the day. Furthermore, it is these quiet, unposed moments that truly define a family’s history. I cannot wait to meet that sweet little baby girl when she finally arrives as a chicago maternity photographer.

Meeting new clients is always so exciting, especially when the location has as much character as this one. For this Pleasant Home family session, we were all so grateful that the Chicago weather gave us a huge break. As any local photographer knows, you just never know what you’ll find in late autumn. If you’re an Oka Park + Chicago family photographer in the area, you know how repetitive certain parks can feel. However, choosing a spot like Pleasant Home changes the entire energy of a gallery. I first met Lacy at a local Starbucks. Her beautiful family was hunting for a storyteller. Actually, I felt honored to interview with them. Strength and Surrender During Your Oak Park Newborn Photos

The birth day arrived, but unplanned situations occurred. Specifically, Lacy showed the true depth of her strength. She navigated the changes beautifully. I witnessed a human break down and pick herself back up with grace. Furthermore, her partner supported their love both spiritually and physically. Consequently, love radiated throughout the room when we met for these Oak Park newborn photos two weeks later. Lacy is an incredible Midwive, she inspires me so much.

This sweet baby girl could not be more loved. Because I prioritize “honesty over poses,” we focused on the raw connection between the doting brother and his new sister. Oak Park Birth Photography | A Powerful Home Birth Story

Almost the Same Birthday: An Oak Park Birth Story

I am in awe of this incredible mama. She showed such grace and strength during this session for Oak Park birth photography. This sweet baby decided to make her appearance while I was away in Denver. On my last day of vacation, mama texted me that her water had broken. It was 10 pm, and I had a 5 am flight back to Chicago. I felt so excited for her but nervous that I would not make it in time.

The Reality of Oak Park Birth Photography

Fortunately, things slowed down and I made it home. I had woken up at 3 am to make my flight and hadn’t slept at all due to the chaos of traveling. Around 7 pm, I headed over to join the birth team. I watched as she worked through her surges.

During the night, her amazing team noticed a change. The head midwife joined the birth and assessed the situation. They determined the baby was facing the incorrect way. As a “fly on the wall” photographer, I don’t ask questions, so the details are a bit fuzzy, but I remember hearing the words “face presentation.”

Strength Through a Changing Birth Story

Her doula tried several incredible ways to change the presentation manually. Eventually, the team made the call to head to the hospital for a C-section. You could feel the real disappointment and sadness for this mama. She had worked so incredibly hard, but the reality had changed.

This was my first C-section experience. We drove towards West suburban Hospital.While I wish I could have captured the baby’s arrival, I still saw those first moments as she became a mama for the second time. What an honor to be part of this story. This is why I love Oak Park birth photography. It is all magical. C-section mamas, your story matters. As a Chicago Birth Photographer it is my opinion that your birth is just as beautiful.as she became the mama she was meant to be for a second time.
