A Sun-Filled Morning | Chicago Newborn Session in Streeterville

There’s something about a cold Chicago morning when the sun actually shows up. Light pours through floor-to-ceiling condo windows, there’s no agenda, and nowhere to be. That’s exactly what we had for this Streeterville newborn session and honestly, as a Chicago newborn photographer, I’m still thinking about it. That kind of light makes everything feel softer, which is exactly what a brand new family deserves.

Close-up of a baby's face, featuring large blue eyes and a slight smile.

Their First Baby, Their First Days

This was their first, and everything that comes with that showed up right there in the room. Mom held him so carefully. Dad’s hand found her back at the crib without even thinking about it. Those aren’t posed moments they just happen naturally, and my job is to stay quiet enough to catch them.

Baby was wide-eyed and alert for most of our time together. Those blue eyes, that little red hair peeking out from his white knit bonnet I could have photographed his face for hours. Meanwhile, mom was radiant in the most beautiful navy dress, glowing against all that creamy window light. She was exhausted and stunning and so present. I truly hope she sees herself the way I saw her through my lens.

Why In-Home Newborn Photography in Chicago Just Works

One of my favorite things about in-home newborn photography in Chicago is that your home tells the story too. The nursery, the wooden crib, the gallery wall frames you hung before you even knew his face all of it ends up in the gallery, and all of it matters. Beyond that, you don’t have to pack a bag, load a carseat, or stress about timing. We simply meet you where you already are.

Streeterville condos are made for this kind of session. Specifically, those high floors, big windows, and gorgeous diffused lakefront light do half my job for me. If you’ve been searching for a Chicago newborn photographer in Streeterville, this is exactly the kind of session I offer unhurried, in your home, in your light. Streeterville, one of Chicago’s most iconic lakefront neighborhoods, has some of the most beautiful natural light I’ve ever photographed in. If you’ve been searching for a Chicago newborn photographer in Streeterville, this is exactly the kind of session I offer in your home, in your light.

I photograph newborns throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs Streeterville, Lincoln Park, River North, the West Loop, Wicker Park, and beyond. Sessions are relaxed, unhurried, and completely judgment-free. No posing, no props you didn’t ask for, just your family exactly as you are right now. I loved how these Chicago Newborn Photographs turned out.

Promontory Point Family Photography in the Winter

I am so excited to finally be sharing my sessions! Promontory Point family photography is truly something special, even when the Chicago lakefront wind starts to bite. This location was chosen by my client, who happens to be an incredibly talented photographer herself. There is no higher compliment than being asked to capture a fellow artist’s family!

Braving the Cold for Authentic Connection

If you find yourself on the south side of Chicago, go take a walk here—or better yet, book me to photograph the love in your life. This session was so much fun, even with the dreadful December cold. Man, was it chilly! But looking at these previews, I truly feel that these images feel warm.

This family was a joy to work with. Photographer kids so special, these kiddos were so ready to explore and get some cool images for their mama! While working with older kids sometimes makes me nervous, I have to remind myself that I’ve been doing this for a while. Whether it’s a newborn session or Promontory Point family photography, it’s never about the perfect pose; it’s always about the connection. Its all about the connection

    Planning Your Chicago Winter Session

When planning for Promontory Point family photography, the architecture of the stone steps and the skyline views provide a timeless backdrop. In the winter, the “Point” is much less crowded than in the summer months, giving us the freedom to move around and capture candid moments.

To stay warm during a winter shoot, I always recommend layers, stylish coats, and plenty of movement. This family did a great job staying cozy, and the result is a gallery full of heart and soul.I hope I get a summer session here soon!

A Warm Autumn Day with an Evanston Family Photographer

Sometimes it feels like the fall is here and gone before you know it. Doing a Evanston Beach Family session in the fall I always keep a close eye on the foliage and the weather, hoping for those rare, warm autumn days. On one of those perfect afternoons, I got to play along with this wonderful family at the lakefront.

As a Chicago Family photographer who loves traveling north to The Evanston lighthouse beach is the perfect space for a little kid adventure. There is something about the combination of the historic lighthouse, the sand dunes, and the vastness of Lake Michigan that brings out the best in everyone. Just be warned: running in the sand is extremely tiring! Ha! Nonetheless, it’s so much fun and worth every grain of sand in your shoes.

Connection in an Evanston Beach Family session

These two sisters were a joy to work with. For some of my little clients, getting used to a big camera can take some time. However, as an experienced Evanston Family Photographer, I know that with enough encouragement and time, we can get past the “camera shyness” and get to playing.

We spent our time running along the shoreline and exploring the dunes. I loved seeing the bond between these two sisters—they were full of giggles and hugs. This is a great reminder for parents that it’s okay if your child takes a bit longer to warm up. I never expect “perfect” behavior; I only want to capture the real stuff.

Why Choose the Evanston Lighthouse for Your Photos?

When searching for an Evanston Family Photographer, location is everything. The Lighthouse beach offers a variety of textures—from the architectural interest of the lighthouse itself to the natural beauty of the water. In the fall, the light has a golden quality that reflects beautifully off the lake.

Whether we are doing tickles for mom or racing through the sand, my goal is to make sure you leave the session feeling like you just had a great family outing. These memories are the ones that will hang on your walls for years to come.See the full Evanston family photographer portfolio and experience guide

    Evanston Beach Session FAQ

What is the best time for beach photos in Evanston? As an Evanston Family Photographer, I always recommend “Golden Hour,” which is the hour right before sunset. At the lighthouse beach, the sun sets behind the trees, creating a soft, glowing light over the water that is incredibly flattering for portraits.

What should we wear for a fall beach session? Fall at Lake Michigan can be unpredictable! I suggest layers. Knitted sweaters, denim, and earth tones like rust, mustard, and deep blues look stunning against the blue water and tan sand. Don’t be afraid of blankets—they make for great “snuggle” props!

Is the Evanston Lighthouse beach crowded? In the fall, it is much quieter than the summer months. This allows us more room to run around and capture those wide-angle shots of the shoreline without strangers in the background.

Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary Family Session | Chicago

Planning a family session at the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is one of my favorite ways to spend a morning in Chicago. Sometimes kiddos aren’t as warm to me as quickly as their parents would want, and that’s okay. Specifically, this little kiddo was a bit apprehensive at the start of our shoot. Because the camera can be intimidating, I always focus on making the session feel like a walk in the park. Consequently, I often hear parents ask, ‘what do I do with my hands?’ To that question, the answer is always to hold someone you love

In fact, I love to photograph connection and movement. For this reason, the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is one of my favorite locations in Chicago. This beach offers so much space for kids to run and feel free. Therefore, it helps them feel much more at ease than a traditional studio setting.

The Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is truly a beautiful location! Additionally, if you want a mix of wild texture and the city skyline, it is perfect. Because it allows kids to explore the paths, it makes for a very relaxed family session. This family was so kind and sweet throughout the entire morning.

A Sunny Session at the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary

Even with the initial shyness, this kiddo gave us many cute moments to document. Furthermore, the morning sun provided a stunning, warm glow across the dunes. Overall, it was a successful day in a gorgeous place. If you are looking for a location with the Chicago skyline and a touch of nature, this is the spot. In conclusion, every session in the city has its own unique rhythm. Whether a child is shy or energetic, I aim to document the truth of your family. As a result, these photos become timeless keepsakes for years to come.

Chicago hospital birth photographer | Gabriel’s Birth Story

No matter where you choose to birth your sweet little being, I am always honored to be a part of the team. Being a Chicago hospital birth photographer is a magical experience. You get to witness so much strength and transformation in one room. Specifically, Sophia had a very laid-back active labor. She did so well throughout the process.

First-time moms can be unpredictable. Consequently, you have to surrender and accept that many things are out of your control. I feel like Sophia rode the wave of acceptance beautifully. I was there to capture every image of her and her husband. Furthermore, her maternity images were very special to shoot. Being a Chicago hospital birth photographerin a medical setting is different than being at home.

Capturing Strength with a Chicago hospital birth photographer

Additionally, the challenge at the hospital is maintaining a level of vulnerability. We must work within a more controlled landscape. In fact, lighting can actually be better in the hospital because they require visibility at all times. Overall, I have had the best experiences with hospital staff. This hospital was no different. Therefore, the environment felt very supportive for the family.

Moreover, I love the unique energy of a hospital arrival. Since every birth is different, I am always ready for anything. As a result, we captured the raw emotions of Gabriel coming into the world. Whether it is the quiet moments of labor or the first breath, the magic is undeniable. Instead of a quiet house, the hospital buzzes with a different kind of excitement.

In conclusion, I enjoy every minute of my work. Whether it is a home birth or a hospital birth, the story is what matters. So, I am glad I could document Gabriel’s first moments. Lastly, thank you for following my journey. If you need a Chicago hospital birth photographer, please reach out! Thank you for supporting my art and my business.”

Barrington family photographer | Extended Family Session

Sometimes I am invited into the most beautiful spaces. Specifically, some homes are completely stunning. However, they are underwhelming compared to the lovely people inside. This family is no exception. They were so kind and gorgeous. Being a Barrington family photographer, I was honored to document their story. Grandma was the vision of beauty. I love photographing matriarchs, you can always tell how deep the love runs.

I loved seeing her being taken care of by her family. For example, her husband held her hand so gently. Her daughter even helped fix her hair. All of these little things shout LOVE. Consequently, these moments make my work worth while. Family brings all of that emotion to the surface. Overall, the session felt very peaceful.

Memories with a Barrington family photographer

Additionally, this session was very personal for me. Because I lost my own Abuela, I know how precious these photos are. I captured this beautiful family as they played and sat together. In fact, generational differences do not matter when the love is this deep. Therefore, my goal as a Barrington family photographer is to preserve that connection forever.

Moreover, the home provided a perfect backdrop. Since everyone was in a familiar space, they felt relaxed. As a result, the portraits feel authentic and honest. Whether it was a quiet moment on the stairs or a laugh in the kitchen, the magic was there. Instead of a stiff studio, we focused on real life.

This family made my job as a Chicago Family Photographer a breeze. Hannah Full of Love: A Summer Session

OMG! I am so honored to be part of the collective team for Hannah and Eric’s second home birth. When it comes to Jefferson Park maternity photography, I see these sessions as a “pre-party” celebration. There is a specific kind of magic that happens during the wait. This is especially true when a family prepares for a home birth.

Perhaps I’m rambling. None of this might make sense to anyone but me, and that’s okay. However, I am glad to deliver these special images to this beautiful family once again. These are once-in-a-lifetime days.

The Magic of Jefferson Park Maternity Photography

Choosing Jefferson Park maternity photography was the perfect way to document this chapter. It was a stunning summer day. The park was filled with a golden, hazy light. It truly felt like a dream.

What a change from our last session together! The weather was different, but that wasn’t the only change. We now had a cute little toddler running through the grass. She is getting ready to become a big sister. This is the beauty of Jefferson Park maternity photography. The park offers a variety of textures. You can find everything from tall summer grass to quiet, shaded paths. It is a hidden gem for Chicago families.

Capturing Connection in a Lifestyle Session

During a lifestyle session, I don’t look for a “perfect” pose. Instead, I look for the connection. I want to capture the way a hand rests on a belly. I love to see the way a partner looks at their spouse. Mostly, I want to see the joy of a toddler who doesn’t know how much life is about to change.

If you want Jefferson Park maternity photography that values the magical reality of birth, you’re in the right place. I am so excited for Hannah and Eric. Bringing another soul into the world at home is a powerful journey. I feel lucky to document these quiet moments before the baby arrives. Being their second time Chicago Maternity Photographer has been so special.

At-Home Newborn Photographer Evanston: Baby Harry’s First Days

As an At-Home Newborn Photographer in Evanston, I tell stories. Specifically, I tell the stories of a family’s first home. Baby Harry’s session was a perfect example. He was a sleepy little mister. Capturing his tiny details was a joy. For instance, I loved his fuzzy newborn skin and quiet stretches. This is exactly why I love my job.

    Inspiring Newborn photographer

Many parents wonder about the best location. As a Chicago Newborn Photographer, I’ve always know I want to have a stress free experience. Should you travel to a studio? Or should you stay put? Choosing a Newborn Photographer in Evanston is a great choice. First, you don’t have to pack a heavy diaper bag. Second, you don’t have to rush out the door. Instead, we move at your baby’s pace. If Harry needed to eat, we simply paused. Consequently, the environment stayed relaxed. This allowed Harry’s parents to truly soak in the moment. They were exhausted, but they were very smitten.

What to Expect During Your Evanston At-Home Newborn Session

One of my favorite images features the family pets. In a home session, your “first babies” are included. Furry siblings are part of the celebration. Furthermore, these sessions capture the character of Evanston living. We utilize the soft light from a nursery window. We snuggle on the master bed. Therefore, the backdrop is your real life.

Planning with Your At-Home Newborn Photographer in Evanston

Are you preparing for your own arrival? I recommend exploring local resources. For example, Downtown Evanston is great for nursery decor. Also, North Shore University HealthSystem offers great support. As your At-Home Newborn Photographer in Evanston, I want to help. I make the process as seamless as possible.

Indeed, these photographs are more than just images. They are a return ticket to a special moment. Early parenthood is often a blur. However, these photos keep the memory clear. Thank you, Harry, for being such a perfect subject. See the full Evanston family photographer portfolio and experience guide.

    The Dryfhout Family Session

The absolute most kind of people also happen to be the most beautiful. Sometimes I travel a bit outside of my area to lovely places like for Homer Glen Family Photos. We did the math during their session and I have been photographing their beautiful family since before little miss E was even alive. How insanely special is that?

I’ve seen two of their stunning homes and have watched the kids go through various changes. Now they’ve added an adorable pup! I always say that Matt won the wife lottery, but you can see from these images that they are all so beyond lucky to have each other. I cannot stress enough how welcoming and lovely they are. Getting to catch up and see the brand-new adventures they’ve made is so much fun.

Miss Z + E make me jealous for my own little Zoe; I know she wishes she had a sister. I myself had two, but they came almost a decade after me. It is also crazy to see just how tall Mr. A got, close to being over six feet. He will absolutely surpass his dad soon!

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: there is no such thing as a bad location. We shot these Homer Glen family photos in their front yard, around their house, and in the back. There is always some kind of magic everywhere.
