    Newborn privacy photography is a top priority for many modern families. While capturing those first weeks is vital, protecting your baby’s digital footprint is equally important. Recently, I visited a darling family on a chilly Chicago winter day for an at-home session. Their sweet babe was a month old, which is a stage I am absolutely loving! Although older newborns may dislike laying down while awake, they show so much wonderful personality.

    During our time together, this family asked to abstain from sharing their baby’s face online. Because I value trust, I am always happy to respect these wishes. Therefore, we focused on creative ways to document their story without compromising their privacy.

    A Sunny Humboldt Park Newborn Photography | Home documentary Session

    This beautiful session took place at my clients’ bright and airy Humboldt Park home. It was a stunning, sunny day, which is a dream for newborn photography at home. We managed to capture the coolest shots of this gorgeous baby boy. I especially love focusing on the little details: the tiny fingers, the velvet-soft skin, and the quiet moments of them together as a new family of three.

    Actually, they were a family of four! We had to include their cute pup. I don’t think the puppy liked me very much—which hurt my heart just a little, ha!—but including pets is one of the best parts of a lifestyle session. I always try to incorporate the architecture and “vibe” of a family’s home into the session to make the gallery feel personal and magical.

Little Oliver was bashful and full of smiles throughout the morning. Additionally, he even slept a little for us, allowing me to get those sweet, sleepy photographs that parents always cherish. Because I am a Chicago At-Home Newborn Photographer, we were able to incorporate the family’s real-life environment. Consequently, the disco ball in the nursery created a fun, modern vibe. Similarly, the natural light in the room danced in a way that felt like magic.
