    River Room Chicago Wedding — A + L

I first met A + L at Loba in Chicago. From that moment, I knew their River Room Chicago wedding would be unforgettable. We shot their engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory, and they were adorably awkward in the best way. I couldn’t wait for wedding day.

I pulled up on a sweltering summer day. True to form, my ADHD had me forgetting the AC liquid. Classic. My second shooter met me there, and we got straight to work. Together we explored the grounds and introduced ourselves to the team. The venue feels so Chicago a busy street nearby, the river out front, and the city just living its day in the background.

    Morning Details

The vibe at The River Room at Burning Bush Brewery was immaculate. We photographed everything the florals, the dress, and those stunning little Prada kitten heels. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready on-site surrounded by her mom, future mother-in-law, and sisters toasting, laughing, and soaking in the morning. Across the city, my second shooter was with the groom and his groomsmen celebrating A before he married the love of his life.

River Room Chicago Wedding Ceremony & Reception

The ceremony was everything. Emotional, full of laughter including A trying to sneak a kiss early. The flower girl nailed it. The florals were breathtaking, with an organic path full of texture and character.

The reception was pure joy dancing, toasting, good energy all night. L changed into a fun second look, and guests took home Loba’s incredible mole chocolate croissants. If you know me, you know I’m dancing between shots and this crowd made that very easy. The whole night, even as I worked the joy was so contagious. It is easy to see how loved all this couple is. Being the Chicago wedding photographer who shot this special celebration, was such an honor.

A + L, thank you for letting me be part of your day. It was stunning, just like I knew it would be.

Chicago Firehouse Restaurant wedding | Intimate Family Dinner

Recently I photographed a Chicago Firehouse Restaurant wedding and it was nothing short of beautiful. It so happened to be one of the coldest days of the month and if you know Chicago, you know parking is never guaranteed. Thankfully my clients were so welcoming and warm, which honestly set the tone for the entire evening.

The Firehouse Restaurant sits in the heart of Chicago and is one of those hidden gem venues that feels instantly warm the moment you walk through the door. The arched windows, dark wood paneling, and candlelit tables create a moody, cinematic atmosphere that as a documentary photographer I absolutely love working in. Being a Chicago Wedding Photographer has a ton of incredible locations and venues.

What makes a Firehouse Restaurant Chicago wedding so special?

This celebration was an intimate family dinner wedding just their closest people gathered around one long table. No grand ballroom, no DJ, no choreographed first dance. Just real love, really good food, and the kind of laughter that fills a room naturally.

One of my favorite parts of photographing intimate weddings is what you overhear. At this one I found myself listening to stories of decades-long marriages couples at the table sharing how they made it work, what they learned, what they’d tell their younger selves. There were travel stories too adventures taken together, places still on the list, dreams being made out loud over dinner. These are the conversations that happen when a wedding is small enough to feel like a family dinner, because it actually is one.

As a Chicago intimate wedding photographer, these are the evenings I treasure most. The ones where I leave not just with beautiful images but with a full heart.

Chicago IL Elopement Photographer | The Langham

As a Chicago IL elopement photographer, I live for the quiet, intimate moments that a city wedding provides. I recently had the joy of capturing Aldin and Nina’s beautiful morning celebration. It was one of those perfect days where the city feels like it belongs just to you, and the morning coffee hits your soul just right.

An Elegant Morning at The Langham Chicago

We began the day at the iconic The Langham. When searching for a Chicago IL elopement photographer, many couples look for a professional who can navigate the sophisticated interiors of a luxury hotel like this. The architecture provided a stunning backdrop for Nina and Aldin, who are truly soulmates.

After capturing some high-fashion moments in the hotel suite, we headed out to the Chicago Riverfront. The contrast between the luxury of the hotel and the industrial beauty of the river is a dream for a Chicago IL elopement photographer.

    Connecting with the Elopement Couple

At the core of who I am, I am a storyteller who loves the “juicy details.” I want to know your love story and what makes your bond unique. During our walk along the river, I learned so much about this couple. We bonded over our mutual love for H-Mart and our big puppies! It felt less like a “job” and more like a morning spent with friends.

Why Couples Choose a Chicago IL Elopement Photographer

Many couples think they only need a professional for big weddings, but elopements deserve that same high-end coverage. When you hire an experienced Chicago IL elopement photographer, you ensure that even the smallest moments—a shared laugh by the river or a quiet look in a hotel hallway—are preserved forever.

Elopements allow you to skip the stress of a giant guest list and focus entirely on each other. My goal is always to make sure your gallery feels like a timeless “sneak peek” into your private world.

From City to Countryside: Barn Wedding Bliss Near Chicago

What a beautiful day it was. On July 20th, Austin and Olivia tied their lives together with all of their loved ones in attendance. Planning a barn wedding near Chicago is such a wonderful way to give guests a rustic escape from the city, and this celebration was the perfect example of that charm.

    The Heart of the Day

The day started with bellies full of nerves and happy chatter. Getting ready for your wedding is half the fun—the rooms were filled to the brim with excitement. Austin and Olivia are so laid back and completely made for each other. They privately shared their vows before the ceremony, which was so beautiful to watch from a distance. As a photographer, I always respect those quiet, private moments, even if the light is so good I’m “dying” to photograph it!

Rustic Vibes and Twinkling Lights Barn Wedding Near Chicago

This wasn’t just any wedding; it was a seriously cool escape. The rustic vibes of a barn wedding near Chicago create such a relaxed atmosphere. Think exposed beams, twinkling lights, and a sense of down-home charm—the perfect canvas for their love story.

The guests were the loveliest bunch, all smiles and ready to celebrate. But the real energy kicked in when the DJ started spinning! That dance floor was on fire all night long. Capturing all those happy faces and the laughter echoing through the rafters of this barn wedding near Chicago was an absolute joy.

    Why Choose a Barn Venue?

Choosing a barn wedding  allows for a mix of garden elegance and rustic fun. I loved how Austin and Olivia incorporated their “city” style into the “countryside” setting. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of the images to come—I honestly can’t stop editing this beautiful day!

  • Chicago City Hall Elopement Photographer | Adri Photo Co.

Chicago City Hall Elopement Photographer | Adri Photo Co.

As a photographer, I truly believe a Chicago City Hall elopement is one of the most beautiful ways to get married. Specifically, capturing those first few moments of a couple’s journey in the heart of the city is unparalleled. Whether it is a journey into parenting or a commitment of souls, seeing people unite in love is immensely special. Small courthouse weddings have the capacity for amazing images; furthermore, their simplicity and stripped-down nature are what draw me to them as an artist.

Why Choose a Chicago City Hall Elopement?

First, choosing a lifestyle approach for your wedding allows us to document your story authentically. In addition, the architecture of the city building provides a classic, urban backdrop that never goes out of style. There is no need for a massive production or a complicated timeline. Instead, we can focus entirely on the connection between you and your partner. Being a Chicago Elopement Photographer is so special.

PASTRY EATING AFTER CITY HALL WEDDING

Moreover, the natural light and historic details found downtown provide a beautiful glow for portraits. Consequently, the images feel timeless and organic. These two lovely humans tied their souls together on a cold Chicago winter day. Although it was frigid and freezing outside, their connection provided all the warmth and love we needed. We froze a little, but it was still worth it to capture the city and celebrate their union. Of course my favorite part was the bakery Lea, we have one locally here in Oak Park. Their lattes are delicious.

    Planning Your Courthouse Wedding

During the planning process, I always suggest looking for the small details that make the day yours. For example, even in a simple Chicago City Hall elopement, bringing a small bouquet or wearing a meaningful accessory makes the photos feel personal. Since these sessions are shorter than a full-day wedding, we have more time to wander nearby LaSalle Street or the Riverwalk.

Finally, my goal is to make your wedding day stress-free. Therefore, I focus on the quiet, unscripted moments that happen between the poses. If you are looking for a Chicago City Hall elopement that prioritizes your unique story, I would love to help you document it.

As a Chicago Intimate Wedding Photographer, I have seen a beautiful shift in how couples choose to celebrate their love. When Bob and Brooke reached out about their mini weekend wedding, I knew the day would be intimate and intentional. Because they chose a smaller celebration, the focus remained entirely on their connection. In fact, these micro-weddings often allow for a much more relaxed pace and plenty of authentic portrait time. From Chicago I drove 4 hours to Michigan to be there for this wedding. Covid couldn’t stop me.

Why Hire a Chicago Intimate Wedding Photographer?

Many couples are realizing that a smaller guest list does not mean a smaller celebration. However, it does mean you can prioritize the details that matter most to you. Whether you are planning a ceremony at a historic downtown venue or a private celebration in your own backyard, your day deserves to be documented beautifully. Furthermore, choosing an Intimate Wedding Photographer ensures that your gallery captures the laughter, the joy, and the quiet, candid moments that often get missed at larger, traditional events. Not to mention their engagement session was amazing.

    Tips for Your Micro-Wedding

If you are currently planning your own wedding, here is my top advice:

Hire a professional. You want someone who notices the way you look at each other, not just the “staged” shots.

Check local regulations. If you are planning an outdoor ceremony, check the for the latest rules.

Don’t rush. One of the best parts of a micro-wedding is the flexibility!

In conclusion, Bob and Brooke’s day was a perfect reminder of why I love what I do. It was personal, intentional, and full of joy. Consequently, their photos turned out to be some of my favorites from that season. Are you looking for a Chicago Intimate Wedding Photographer to capture your micro-wedding? or to see if I’m available for your date!

A Secret Celebration: The Berkshire Room Surprise

here is something electric about a well-kept secret. When Emily and Clark reached out about their intimate downtown Chicago wedding, the plan was delightfully devious. To their friends and family, this was a dual-purpose gathering: a “big fancy send-off” before moving abroad and a formal engagement party. But tucked away in the moody, storied atmosphere of The Berkshire Room
, a much bigger story was about to unfold.

The Reveal: An Intimate Downtown Chicago Wedding Surprise

The night started like any other high-end cocktail party. People were dressed to the nines, sipping craft drinks and reminiscing. Then, Clark grabbed the mic. He started by thanking everyone for coming to say goodbye, but his tone shifted as he mentioned there was one more secret to share.

The moment he announced they were actually getting married right then, the room erupted. I’ve captured many ceremonies, but the sheer explosion of cheers and tears in that space was unlike anything else. It’s these raw, unscripted moments that make a small Chicago wedding so much more impactful than a traditional production.

    The Ceremony

Only two family members were in on the ruse, and they stepped forward to lead the ceremony at the front of the room. There was no aisle, no formal altar—just a circle of loved ones and a couple exchanging beautiful, tearful vows. As a photographer, I live for this kind of warmth. Amidst the food and the drinks, the room felt alive.

Choosing an intimate downtown Chicago wedding allowed E+C to focus entirely on their people. In my opinion as a Chicago Wedding photographer The Berkshire Room provided the perfect backdrop for this “secret” vibe—sophisticated, timeless, and deeply personal. It wasn’t just a wedding; it was a core memory for everyone in that room.
