Your wedding day will be full of moments no one planned for a stolen glance, a shoulder shake of laughter, your grandmother wiping her eyes during the vows. As a Chicago documentary wedding photographer, my job is to be invisible enough that those moments happen naturally, and present enough that none of them disappear.

I’ve had the privilege of documenting weddings across Chicago and beyond — from intimate celebrations at Pleasant Home Mansion in Oak Park and Company 251 in Aurora, to candlelit evenings at The Firehouse Restaurant and The River Room in Chicago. My latest favorite was at the Charcoal Factory. I proudly photograph all couples and all love. I’ve even packed my bags for a destination wedding in the north woods of Michigan. Wherever your day takes you, I’ll be there.

A documentary approach to your wedding day

My background in birth and family photography trained me to read a room to feel when something is about to happen before it does. I bring that same instinct to weddings. While other photographers are directing poses, I’m watching the flower girl spin in her dress when she thinks no one is looking. That’s the photo you’ll still have on your wall in thirty years.

Client review

“Adri was our photographer for our wedding. When the pandemic hit we had to postpone and she was so flexible she even drove 6 hours to capture our small ceremony in the north woods of Michigan. She then photographed our big celebration in Aurora and her creative shots made for the most beautiful wedding photos. Cannot recommend her enough.”

— Brooke Henry, wedding client (intimate ceremony + celebration)

Frequently asked questions

Do you travel outside of Chicago?

Absolutely. I serve all of Chicagoland including Oak Park, Aurora, Evanston, Downers Grove, La Grange, Naperville, and the surrounding suburbs. I also travel for destination weddings — just ask.

What is documentary wedding photography?

Documentary wedding photography means capturing your day as it actually happens — no stiff poses, no forced smiles. I photograph real moments, real emotions, and real connections. The result is a gallery that feels like a film of your wedding, not a catalog shoot.

How many photos will we receive?

Most couples receive between 60 to 80 fully edited images per hour of coverage. Every wedding is different, but you can expect a complete gallery that tells the full story of your day, delivered within a few weeks of your wedding.

Do you shoot both the ceremony and reception?

Yes I document the full story of your day, from getting ready through the last dance. Coverage options are available to fit your timeline and needs.

Ready to book your Chicago wedding photographer?

I only take on a limited number of weddings each year so I can give every couple my full attention. If your date is coming up, I’d love to hear from you.
