    I’ve had quite a baby boom with clients recently! It’s been beautiful to get to meet all these new expectant parents. Specifically, there is so much excitement in the air for this new start.     Marlow and Tarek are here celebrating their soon-to-be new daughter in these photographs. They were an absolute blast to work with during their Oak Park maternity session. Capturing images is always a celebration. Thankfully, I am so lucky I get to be a part of it. But honestly, how stunning does Marlow look? You could just feel all of the joy radiating from her throughout the evening as we explored the forest paths together.

    Chasing the Golden Hour in the Forest

    We chose a beautiful wooded area for our portraits to ensure a private and serene atmosphere. For instance, the way the sunset filtered through the trees created a dreamlike atmosphere that is hard to replicate elsewhere. In addition, the natural greenery of the forest provided a timeless backdrop for the couple. I love how the light caught Marlow’s dress as she moved. Consequently, every frame captured the magic of this waiting period.

    As a result of the warm weather and the couple’s playful energy, we were able to get so many authentic moments. Looking back, the laughter was the best part of the day. Furthermore, it is these quiet, unposed moments that truly define a family’s history. I cannot wait to meet that sweet little baby girl when she finally arrives as a chicago maternity photographer.

    What a session this was! It was full of fun, love, and so much rain. As a photographer, I’ve learned that a Bucktown street maternity session can be beautiful in any weather. Even though the forecast was gloomy, we had awesome clients who decided to turn lemons into lemonade.

    Rachel and Brian are expecting their first baby, a girl. Specifically, for their session, we didn’t have to venture out too far. Rachel had the perfect city block in mind. I personally believe you can create magic anywhere. Therefore, I was absolutely up for the challenge of a rainy Bucktown street maternity session.

    Embracing the Rain in the City

    We paused here and there for traffic and rain. Actually, it was so much rain! But we did not allow the weather to stop us. Afterward, we had to do a quick shirt change because Brian looked like he had taken a dip in a river! Once he was dry, we continued to capture more of this beautiful journey for them. I do love the way in which they just went along with the adventure of rain during their maternity session. I feel like it made the magic of the moment come alive,

    We took a quick trip in the heat to a favorite local spot. Specifically, I want to highlight Sarah’s perfect styling for this session. Although summer heat is tough, she made it look effortless. She looked beautiful in her gown. Consequently, the neutral tones kept the focus on the family connection.

    This new decade has already proven to be a challenge. I am being pulled in many amazing directions. To take a breath, I am diving into my archives.     Curating a Motherhood Masterclass with Kerlyn Van Gelder

    I acted as the host and teacher for this workshop. My goal was to create a space where artists could flourish. Consequently, I was honored to hire the talented Kerlyn Van Gelder. She led this specific session for our group. While she taught the students how to see light, I documented the magic through my own lens. In fact, watching other creatives find their voice was a huge highlight for me.

Whether I am teaching a class myself or hosting a world-class artist like Kerlyn, my mission remains the same: a visual legacy. As a result, the gallery becomes a true reflection of the strength and surrender found in birth.

    We headed to the beach at Jackson Park on Chicago’s South Side for her maternity session the warmth of Lake Michigan that August made it feel like a completely different world. As a Jackson Park maternity photographer, I am still flabbergasted by this mama’s beauty and her steady energy. Sometimes in this line of work, you get to meet truly calm and powerful souls who make documenting motherhood feel like pure magic.

    Planning Your Session with a Jackson Park Maternity Photographer

    Working as a Jackson Park maternity photographer allows me to offer my clients incredible variety, but on this day, the water was our focus. Given the high temperatures that week, the beach was the only place to stay comfortable. The typical icy lake had turned lukewarm and refreshing, providing a serene environment for her “goddess” inspired portraits.

    To say that she made my job easy would be an understatement; she looked like she was naturally made for basking in the sun. Jackson Park offers such a poetic backdrop for these stories, blending the wildness of the water with the quiet strength of the surrounding landscape.     Elmhurst hospital birth photographer | Adri De La Cruz

    Hiring an Elmhurst hospital birth photographer was something this mama prepared for thoughtfully and being the one she chose was such a gift. I’ve never seen a more calm birther than this woman. Her peaks were just so controlled and effortless, at least that is how she expressed them outwardly. The day outside was absolute perfection, and this had been my first daytime birth in a while. It was just extremely laid back, the kind of birth that feels almost meditative in the early hours.

    But then the going got tougher. The energy in the room shifted and I knew baby was close to coming earth-side. Still, with the most incredible strength and grace, she got to ten centimeters . The room quietly prepped for the baby’s arrival and you could just feel the anticipation hanging in the air.

    A Calm Hospital Birth

    One thing I always prepare my clients for is that hospitals are much more restrictive when it comes to images during active pushing. I managed to capture a few precious frames before I was gently reprimanded it’s always a delicate dance of being present, being invisible, and honoring both the medical team and the family all at once.

    Birth doesn’t need to be dramatic to be powerful. Sometimes the most moving stories are the quiet ones a hand held, a breath released, a baby placed on a chest for the very first time. As a birth photographer serving Elmhurst and the Chicago west suburbs, I feel so privileged to witness these moments.

    Inspiring Maternity photos Itasca IL

    This beautiful woman is welcoming her third baby boy, and life was doing what life does piling things on all at once. Her middle child had just gotten a long-awaited doctor’s appointment, landing right as she was preparing to bring a new baby into the world. Women are such warriors. I knew without a doubt she would rise to every single moment — advocating fiercely, loving fully, and somehow making it all look effortless.

    I cannot wait to meet this new little one.

    For this session I did a lot of cool experimenting with textures, the clear plastic created this hazy halo effect, I also did over exposures as well. I also loved playing with hard light. Using the light directionally to create interesting visual composition within our frames. Lastly I love a blue sky. I think clouds are my favorite but the blue and green contrast made these so beautiful. This is what im talking about. When I photograph you as your Chicago Maternity Photographer expect to kool beautiful, yes. But also to look inspiring and to have your eye be challenged.
