Chicago Proposal Photographer | Bennett Park, Gold Coast

Some sessions I walk into with pages of details. Others, I walk into with a location, a time, and one job: don’t miss the moment. As a Chicago proposal photographer, Chris and Danielle’s surprise at Bennett Park in the Streeterville was the second kind and honestly? Those are some of my favorites.

Bennett Park sits tucked into one of Chicago’s most iconic neighborhoods, surrounded by high-rises and lush green space that feels like a secret garden in the middle of the city. It’s quiet. It’s beautiful. And on this particular evening, it was the backdrop for one of the most genuine reactions I’ve ever photographed.

A man and a woman celebrate outdoors, with the man opening a champagne bottle, causing the cork to pop and champagne to spray. The woman is joyfully embracing the moment. Chicago proposal photographer

    The Moment Everything Changed

I was in position before Danielle arrived. Therefore When she walked across that lawn and realized what was happening, there was no hesitation, no performance just pure, unfiltered joy. The kind of reaction you can’t script and you definitely can’t pose. That’s exactly why I do what I do.

As a Chicago documentary photographer, I’m not there to direct your love story. I’m there to follow it. And Chris and Danielle’s story told itself beautifully.

Champagne, Tears, and a Really Good Pop

After the yes because of course it was a HELL YES! out came the champagne. If you’ve never photographed a champagne pop in golden hour light with a laughing, screaming, overjoyed newly-engaged couple, I highly recommend it. The spray, the laughter, the way Danielle threw her head back. That image says everything words can’t.

The setup was simple and stunning: a champagne bucket, lush pink florals, and two people dressed in all black looking like they stepped out of a fashion editorial. The Streeterville skyline did the rest.

Chicago Proposal Photographer at Its Best

If you’re planning a surprise proposal in Chicago. Whether it’s at Bennett Park, Millennium Park, the Riverwalk, or anywhere else in the city having a photographer there to capture it is one of the best decisions you can make. Your partner will only say yes for the first time once. These are the images you’ll have forever.

I work with proposal planners, parents, and partners who are coordinating the whole thing from behind the scenes. No detail is too small, and yes, I can keep a secret.

A man proposing to a woman in a park, with her hands covering her face in surprise and joy, surrounded by greenery and floral decorations.

Ready to plan your Chicago proposal session? lets book it! and let’s make it happen. As your Chicago proposal photographer, I’ll handle the hiding, the timing, and the tears, you just handle the ring. if you’re already thinking about the wedding day — I’d love to be your Chicago Wedding Photographer too.

  • River Room Chicago Wedding — A + L

    River Room Chicago Wedding — A + L

I first met A + L at Loba in Chicago. From that moment, I knew their River Room Chicago wedding would be unforgettable. We shot their engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory, and they were adorably awkward in the best way. I couldn’t wait for wedding day.

I pulled up on a sweltering summer day. True to form, my ADHD had me forgetting the AC liquid. Classic. My second shooter met me there, and we got straight to work. Together we explored the grounds and introduced ourselves to the team. The venue feels so Chicago a busy street nearby, the river out front, and the city just living its day in the background.

    Morning Details

The vibe at The River Room at Burning Bush Brewery was immaculate. We photographed everything the florals, the dress, and those stunning little Prada kitten heels. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready on-site surrounded by her mom, future mother-in-law, and sisters toasting, laughing, and soaking in the morning. Across the city, my second shooter was with the groom and his groomsmen celebrating A before he married the love of his life.

River Room Chicago Wedding Ceremony & Reception

The ceremony was everything. Emotional, full of laughter including A trying to sneak a kiss early. The flower girl nailed it. The florals were breathtaking, with an organic path full of texture and character.

The reception was pure joy dancing, toasting, good energy all night. L changed into a fun second look, and guests took home Loba’s incredible mole chocolate croissants. If you know me, you know I’m dancing between shots and this crowd made that very easy. The whole night, even as I worked the joy was so contagious. It is easy to see how loved all this couple is. Being the Chicago wedding photographer who shot this special celebration, was such an honor.

A + L, thank you for letting me be part of your day. It was stunning, just like I knew it would be.

Chicago Firehouse Restaurant wedding | Intimate Family Dinner

Recently I photographed a Chicago Firehouse Restaurant wedding and it was nothing short of beautiful. It so happened to be one of the coldest days of the month and if you know Chicago, you know parking is never guaranteed. Thankfully my clients were so welcoming and warm, which honestly set the tone for the entire evening.

The Firehouse Restaurant sits in the heart of Chicago and is one of those hidden gem venues that feels instantly warm the moment you walk through the door. The arched windows, dark wood paneling, and candlelit tables create a moody, cinematic atmosphere that as a documentary photographer I absolutely love working in. Being a Chicago Wedding Photographer has a ton of incredible locations and venues.

Chicago Firehouse wedding intimate family dinner guests black and white

What makes a Firehouse Restaurant Chicago wedding so special?

This celebration was an intimate family dinner wedding just their closest people gathered around one long table. No grand ballroom, no DJ, no choreographed first dance. Just real love, really good food, and the kind of laughter that fills a room naturally.

One of my favorite parts of photographing intimate weddings is what you overhear. At this one I found myself listening to stories of decades-long marriages couples at the table sharing how they made it work, what they learned, what they’d tell their younger selves. There were travel stories too adventures taken together, places still on the list, dreams being made out loud over dinner. These are the conversations that happen when a wedding is small enough to feel like a family dinner, because it actually is one.

As a Chicago intimate wedding photographer, these are the evenings I treasure most. The ones where I leave not just with beautiful images but with a full heart.

  • Pleasant Home Mansion Wedding | Vintage Inspired Oak Park

Pleasant Home Mansion Wedding | Vintage Inspired Oak Park

A Dreamy Pleasant Home Mansion Wedding

There is something truly timeless about a Pleasant Home Mansion wedding in Oak Park. This historic estate offers a glimpse into the elegance of a bygone era. Recently, I documented a beautiful, vintage-inspired micro wedding in this Prairie School gem. Consequently, every photo felt like a piece of living history. If you are looking for a venue for an intimate celebration, this is the perfect choice.

    An Intimate Micro Wedding Celebration

This specific day was what I would call a perfect micro wedding. The couple invited only their closest family and friends to share in the joy. Furthermore, the smaller guest count created a deeply personal atmosphere. The ceremony and reception both felt incredibly private and sacred. As a result, I was able to capture the genuine connection between everyone in the room. You can see more about this historic venue at the Pleasant Home Foundation website.

Why a Pleasant Home Mansion Wedding Suits Intimacy

You might wonder why this mansion is ideal for a small guest list. Therefore, let’s look at the architectural details. The interior rooms offer a moody, intimate vibe for a small group. A Pleasant Home Mansion wedding allows you to focus on the storytelling of the day without the noise of a massive crowd.

    Striking Portraits and Soulful Music

The evening was filled with unique and soulful details. For instance, the bride’s appearance was absolutely breathtaking. Her hair was a rich shade of red. Specifically, she looked striking against the deep, dark wood of the mansion’s interior. This contrast added a dramatic, painterly quality to her portraits. Additionally, a talented saxophone player performed throughout the entire night. The music echoed through the historic halls and set a romantic tone.

Capturing Timeless Moments in Oak Park

My favorite part of the day was documenting these raw, emotional reactions. Specifically, the light in the mansion added a dramatic flair to the candid moments. Ultimately, my goal was to ensure the photos felt as enduring as the mansion itself. In conclusion, a Pleasant Home Mansion wedding is the perfect setting for couples who value history, intimacy, and beautiful storytelling.

Wisconsin intimate wedding photographer | Kohler garden wedding

Are you looking for a Wisconsin intimate wedding photographer to capture your special day? Stepping away from the Chicago hustle to photograph a wedding in the oh-so-charming Kohler, Wisconsin, was an absolute dream. Being a wedding photographer in Chicago is fantastic. However, heading out to Wisconsin for unique stories like this is a breath of fresh air. Consequently, the drive up was lovely as I watched the busy city turn into green fields.

Your Wisconsin Intimate Wedding Photographer in Kohler

Kohler is like a real-life fairytale. In fact, everything is so pretty that it feels like a dream. The wedding spot was a secret garden bursting with color. For example, roses were everywhere in pinks and reds. Additionally, the peonies were showing off their big, fluffy blooms. The smell was like walking into a flower shop. Therefore, I was so excited to start my work.

Why I Love Being a Wisconsin Intimate Wedding Photographer

I soon met the stars of the show—the bride and groom! These two were sunshine personified. Their smiles were infectious, and you could feel the love between them. Furthermore, they decided to walk down the aisle together. This felt perfectly equal and united. As a result, it told their story of entering married life as a team. As a Wisconsin intimate wedding photographer, those are the moments that make my heart sing.

A Heartfelt Ceremony in the Sun intimate wedding

Wedding day arrived, and the weather was perfect! The sun was shining, and the garden looked breathtaking. Meanwhile, guests started arriving, and you could feel the excitement in the air. The ceremony was very moving. Seeing the couple stroll hand in hand was a powerful symbol. Their vows were genuine; consequently, you could feel the weight of every word. Ultimately, the natural light through the trees created pure magic.

    Capturing Candid Moments and Joy

After they said “I do!”, the garden turned into a relaxed party. I loved wandering around and snapping candid moments. This included huge hugs and bursts of laughter. Indeed, that’s the real beauty of an intimate wedding. Specifically, all those genuine connections shine through when the guest list is small. Because of this, every photo feels more personal.

Golden Hour Portraits in the Garden

The portraits were stunning with that incredible garden backdrop. The bride and groom were glowing and very comfortable together. Finally, the golden hour light bathed the garden in a warm, dreamy filter. We had so much fun exploring every spot. In conclusion, this day was a beautiful reminder of why I love my job. Capturing love in such a peaceful setting is truly good for the soul.

Documenting Love as an Intimate Chicago Wedding Photographer

I truly love Love. Being in love is a very brave thing. As an intimate Chicago wedding photographer, I get to see this up close. In fact, capturing this connection is very special to me. Recently, Jake and Ashley decided it was finally time to wed. So, they gathered their closest friends for a city celebration. It was a beautiful time in the city, I hope that you enjoy these beautiful images. Being a photographer makes me so happy. Seeing my couples emotions rise to the surface. Seeing them so in love is such a treasure. I love love.

    A Personalized City Hall Elopement

Their day was built around their own style. First, we started on their rooftop in Chicago. Then, we headed to City Hall for the ceremony. Afterward, we went to City Social for a drink. Consequently, the energy was high when we hopped on the trolley. Moreover, everyone was so excited to celebrate.

Furthermore, being an intimate Chicago wedding photographer means I follow the story anywhere. Next, we went to the Art Institute garden for portraits. Finally, we finished the day with dinner in West Town. Because I love unique things, this lovely wedding was a dream to document.

    Planning Your Small Wedding

If you are planning a small wedding, Chicago has many great spots. For example, using a trolley is a fun way to keep your group together while seeing the city. Additionally, picking a restaurant like Funkenhausen allows for a relaxed dinner.

As an intimate wedding photographer, I find that these weddings allow for more real connection. In conclusion, whether you choose City Hall or a backyard, your day should reflect you. Therefore, focus on what matters most to your story.

Chicago Courthouse Wedding: A Witness to Love

A Chicago Courthouse Wedding is proof that love doesn’t need a grand stage to be deeply felt. Love, oh love—you are my greatest mystery. I feel like I’ve been running toward it and away from it my whole life. Indeed, watching the people I care about fall into love, marry, and start families is absolutely beautiful. I am learning to pay attention to how they are loved and, moreover, how they love in return. Being a witness to love is something different. Of course, this job gives me first dibs on these moments all the time, and it certainly has its perks.

Documenting My Sibling’s Chicago Courthouse Wedding

Kae and Jordan recently began their story together. Specifically, Kae is my youngest sibling. They have watched me struggle through love, and I have watched them as well. We come from the same story, them and I. Even though I am just starting my own journey of self-love, they seem to have so much more experience with it, despite being eight years younger.

Because of their deep connection, photographing their Chicago Courthouse Wedding felt like more than just a job. It felt like a gift. Consequently, I found myself focusing on the tiny, shaky exhales and the way they held onto one another. Furthermore, seeing my own family find their “safe place” in another person is a visual legacy I will cherish forever. Being a sibling for people celebration their love as a Chicago Elopement Wedding Photographer is amazing, to get to capture my families expression of love.

I have no advice to give, because the only thing I truly know is that I know nothing. However, I am so excited to welcome Jordan into our lives. He is so kind and loves Kae extremely well. In conclusion, cheers to mofo LOVE.

The day started in the bride’s childhood home right here in Aurora, IL. Specifically, my amazing second shooter and I captured the early morning start of getting ready. Capturing details is a favorite part of my job as an Aurora Illinois wedding photographer. For instance, I absolutely loved the vibrant blue shoes the bride chose to wear. In addition, I enjoyed meeting the many family dogs. Tito wasn’t a huge fan of me, but I’m going to blame that on my intimidating camera lens!

After some getting ready portraits, we headed to the venue at Company 251 in Downtown Aurora. Furthermore, this space provided a gorgeous industrial backdrop for all of the love this family has to share. A beautiful voice sang as the bride made her way down the aisle. Consequently, tears started pouring as Bob became overwhelmed with emotion. When you have a dope sister who loves to photograph love and you get engaged and need a  California couples photography session, you have to fly her out immediately, obviously! I won’t lie and say there wasn’t awkwardness. I mean, a couples session is meant to be intimate and full of connection, trust, and love.

Walking through all of this sand is incredibly difficult. Additionally, shooting with primes means I am constantly running back and forth like a silly goose for just the right angle. Let’s just say I got a killer workout. I am so incredibly happy with these images. Consequently, it feels like I am finally checking a major shoot off my photographer bucket list. The sand dunes provided a gorgeous backdrop and they did not disappoint.

The Magic of a California Couples Photography Session

While Luis and Ale are officially married, I can’t wait to see my little brother walking down the aisle. I’ll also see both my mom and dad in tears because I’m sure he’s the favorite! He is five years younger than me. Furthermore, I remember feeling annoyed when he was born. I didn’t get the point of adding another sibling after five years of solitude.

Growing up, he was always far more responsible than me. He would open doors at four in the morning as I was getting home from a night of partying. In addition, he always got up early for school while I just rolled out of bed. Eventually, he chose to move to California for the love of his life. He made the necessary changes for his own happiness. I am so proud of him for living in his truth.

    Family Milestones in the Desert

Ale is such a sweetheart and she doesn’t take any shit. Therefore, she is the perfect match for him. We are tough people to love because we don’t always let others in. However, she has managed to make my brother someone who is open to love. She has made it safe for him to be himself. Consequently, I am so happy to welcome her into my family.

I look forward as a Chicago Wedding photographer and his sister for many future trips to capture their upcoming milestones. Ultimately, I hope to document their years together and eventually their babies. No pressure, but I really want to be an aunt soon! Whether it is a wedding or a California couples photography session, I love being part of their story. For this location information

I love listening to music while I hit the road because it feels incredibly peaceful. In addition, I am a full-album type of girl. I connect songs to specific feelings and drives. Furthermore, I love replaying albums to be transported back to specific moments in time.

The town itself is so cute! It is full of history and quirkiness. Ultimately, we created this impromptu Galena IL couples photography session just for fun. They are in the early stages of their relationship, and I wish them nothing but the best.

    Capturing Connection in Historic Galena

Additionally, a documentary session allows for the most honest interactions. While I usually work as a Chicago photographer, traveling for a Galena IL couples photography session was a refreshing change of pace. For example, the historic streets and quiet corners provided the perfect backdrop for their connection.

Moreover, I believe that these small, impromptu moments are often the most meaningful. Consequently, these images represent a support system that celebrates both triumphs and setbacks. I am grateful to have witnessed this new chapter for Karen and Jordan. Furthermore, seeing them together in such a scenic location reminds me that nature and love are the best healers.

My opinion as a Chicago Wedding photographer I feel like whether it is a structured wedding or a fun getaway shoot, I love documenting these milestones. If you are planning your own trip, be sure to visit the official Visit Galena website to find the best local spots for your own adventure.
