Birth Photography at the Burr Ridge Birth Center A Year of Connection

There is something truly special about birth photography at the Burr Ridge birth center. Specifically, I have had the honor of following this beautiful family for a full year. First, we started with a soft maternity session in the beauty of Lake Michigan. Eventually, we reached the amazing moment they welcomed their new baby.

From our first meeting, I noticed their calm energy. They connected with their daughters in such a gentle way. Clearly, they were ready to welcome another soul into their home. Because I watched them grow for twelve months, this birth felt like a highlight of my year. Baby was late then all of a sudden it felt like baby was here. If you closed your eyes you missed him.

    The sweetest birth surprise

When the big day finally arrived, the air was full of excitement. Because the baby’s gender was a surprise, the room filled with joy when their baby boy arrived. I truly love capturing those first breaths and happy tears.

Furthermore, seeing the look on a parent’s face is the best part of my job. These moments remind me why I love my work. This story of new life shows a pure and honest connection. In fact, it shows the shift from a family of four to a family of five perfectly.

A Beautiful Birth at Burr Ridge Birth Center

The Burr Ridge Birth Center is one cool space near Chicago. I love that it serves as an in between space. Fore those moms wanting more security and freedom at the same time. I’ve seen nothing but truly remarkable birth experiences here. First, the space is quiet and very pretty. Additionally, the kind midwives help with every birth. They offer a level of care that makes the whole day feel safe and special.

As a birth photographer in Chicago, I feel lucky to see these raw moments. Such events remind us how important new life is. While every birth is different, they all show great strength and love. This day was a perfect reminder of my goal. Therefore, I work to save these memories through birth photography at the Burr Ridge birth center. By saving these short moments, families can keep the magic of their baby’s birth forever.

Oak Park Birth Photographer | Abby’s Home Birth Story

As an Oak Park birth photographer, I was thrilled to capture Abby’s incredible home birth journey. When I am on call for birth photography, my backpack is always ready. Fortunately, this was a good thing because this little one arrived very quickly!

I was actually at a networking event when I received the call. Immediately, I headed to Oak Park. My client shared that her water broke while she was enjoying a festival. Clearly, this proves how unpredictable birth can be!

The Call for an Oak Park Birth Photographer

The call came in around mid-afternoon. Suddenly, everything shifted into focus. Abby’s partner called me to say that labor was progressing fast. Consequently, the adrenaline started pumping. Because I have learned to be ready for anything, I grabbed my gear and left right away. Even though Chicago traffic can be tricky, I made great time to the house.

Creating a Calm Home Birth Environment

Walking into their home, I immediately felt a calm atmosphere. String lights twinkled softly while calming music played. Furthermore, the older children were playing quietly nearby. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of being an Oak Park birth photographer. In contrast to a hospital, a home birth allows for a truly intimate and personal experience.

Abby was incredible. She stayed focused and strong throughout the journey. Meanwhile, her partner offered constant support and a gentle touch. Likewise, the older children occasionally peeked in with wonder. I documented these moments discreetly. Indeed, these genuine moments of love make birth photography so special.

    The First Moments of Life

Then, just like that, a new life entered the world. It was pure magic. I captured the first cries and the first moments of skin-to-skin contact. Afterward, I photographed the quiet moments of bonding and breastfeeding. Because these beginnings are so fleeting, I make sure to document every detail. Ultimately, it is an honor to preserve these memories for families.

Montrose Beach Maternity Session | The Adri Photo Co.

Gloomy skies. Trees full of leaves. The scent of flowers in the air. As a Montrose Beach Maternity session, I have seen our city in every kind of weather, but there is something truly special about a quiet, overcast morning. I recently met with a beautiful couple expecting their first baby, and the atmosphere was thick with hope and imagination.

The Beauty of a Montrose Beach Maternity session Chicago Session

We sought out the natural beauty of the city for this session. While most clients hope for clear blue skies, any experienced Montrose Beach Maternity session will tell you that a little overcast light is actually a dream. It acts as a giant softbox, creating a fogginess that was the cherry on top for these portraits. Parenthood is about to become a reality for these two, and capturing that transition in such a dreamy setting was magical.

They spent the morning wondering what their baby will look like and who they will become. It’s that beautiful “in-between” stage where everything is about to change.

Why Book a Chicago Maternity Photographer?

Maternity sessions are more than just a photoshoot; they are a celebration of a couple’s connection. It is often the “last stop” before bringing home a new piece of wonder. As a Chicago maternity photographer, my goal is to capture the emerging motherhood and the deep connection between partners. This couple was so incredibly in sync, and you can read the pure happiness on their faces in every frame.

Whether we are shooting at Montrose Beach or tucked away in a leafy park, these sessions preserve the anticipation and the “juicy details” of your story before the sleepless nights and newborn snuggles begin. I love being a Chicago maternity photographer because I get to document the very beginning of a family’s newest chapter.

The Soulful Reality of Hospital Birth Photography in Chicago

Navigating a Change of Plans: Hospital Birth Photography in Chicago I received the call in the middle of the night that there was a change of plans. Due to a specific test that came back positive, we had to move from a home birth setting to the hospital. If you have ever made a birth plan, you know how much you set your heart on specific outcomes. Consequently, you often have to mourn those quick changes when things fall out of your control. However, hospital birth photography in Chicago can be just as beautiful and soulful as any home session. The birth itself was beautiful, seeing them both work as a team was such a treat. Witnessing love in all of its glory is so special. See this beautiful Mom’s powerful maternity photography session here

The Beauty of Hospital Labor and Delivery

I always arrive at birth sessions with a high level of excitement. This couple was one of my favorites to photograph this year, especially after their stunning maternity session. Although I was surprised by the sudden change in location, I was overjoyed that the time had finally come for baby’s arrival. Witnessing love in all of its glory is incredibly special, regardless of the room we are in. Furthermore, seeing this couple work as a team was a true treat

What to Expect from Hospital Birth Photography in Chicago

When it comes to a medical setting, there are slightly different rules for photography. Specifically, I focus on the quiet glances, the supportive touch of a partner, and the strength of the mother. Even in a brightly lit hospital room, we can find the “love bubble” that surrounds a new family. Therefore, your gallery will reflect the heart of your journey rather than just the clinical surroundings

    Why Documentary Birth Photography Matters

Choosing a photographer for your delivery means trusting someone to tell your story as it unfolds. Whether you are at Prentice Women’s Hospitalor a local birth center, my goal is to remain a “fly on the wall.” I look for the details that pass by in a blur, like the counting of contractions or the first skin-to-skin contact. If you are interested in booking a session, please view my Birth Photography Portfolio to see more of my work.

Chicago hospital birth photographer | Gabriel’s Birth Story

No matter where you choose to birth your sweet little being, I am always honored to be a part of the team. Being a Chicago hospital birth photographer is a magical experience. You get to witness so much strength and transformation in one room. Specifically, Sophia had a very laid-back active labor. She did so well throughout the process.

First-time moms can be unpredictable. Consequently, you have to surrender and accept that many things are out of your control. I feel like Sophia rode the wave of acceptance beautifully. I was there to capture every image of her and her husband. Furthermore, her maternity images were very special to shoot. Being a Chicago hospital birth photographerin a medical setting is different than being at home.

Additionally, the challenge at the hospital is maintaining a level of vulnerability. We must work within a more controlled landscape. In fact, lighting can actually be better in the hospital because they require visibility at all times. Overall, I have had the best experiences with hospital staff. This hospital was no different. Therefore, the environment felt very supportive for the family.

Moreover, I love the unique energy of a hospital arrival. Since every birth is different, I am always ready for anything. As a result, we captured the raw emotions of Gabriel coming into the world. Whether it is the quiet moments of labor or the first breath, the magic is undeniable. Instead of a quiet house, the hospital buzzes with a different kind of excitement.

In conclusion, I enjoy every minute of my work. Whether it is a home birth or a hospital birth, the story is what matters. So, I am glad I could document Gabriel’s first moments. Lastly, thank you for following my journey. If you need a Chicago hospital birth photographer, please reach out! Thank you for supporting my art and my business.”

Home Birth Photographer Chicago: Home Birth is Here to Stay

Whenever I tell someone I am a home birth photographer in Chicago, they often think I mean “birds.” Perhaps it is a little bit of my accent, or the fact that “th” endings can be hard! Regardless, we usually have a little awkward exchange where I explain that I mean births—humans giving birth.

Their faces always show a mix of awe, curiosity, and concern. This is especially true after I mention home birth. However, it fills me with great joy to do such a unique job. I love that people hire me to create art out of their most intimate moments. In fact, being a trusted part of a team that welcomes a little one is a true honor.

Why You Should Hire a Home Birth Photographer in Chicago

Birth is raw and real. It is a beautiful mix of power and vulnerability. Actually, it is buckets full of vulnerability! I was lucky enough to be hired for this beautiful family’s second home birth. Hannah is an incredible mama and human. Consequently, I was so glad to witness their strength together again.

This second birth was a bit different, and I even managed to get a little nap in! Because birth is so unpredictable, I find that I live for that excitement. I always cry the minute the baby arrives. When you see the relief on a mom’s face, the world stops for a minute. Ultimately, something marvelous just occurred. It is pure magic.

Home Birth Photography is Here to Stay

As a home birth photographer in Chicago, I see firsthand how comfortable families are in their own space. This comfort allows for a level of intimacy that is hard to capture elsewhere. Many families worry about the chaos of birth, but my goal is to find the quiet, steady rhythm within it.

Photography is the best way to have something tangible to hold. Memories of birth can be a blur, but a photograph stays with you forever. In addition, these images become your family’s first heirloom. For anyone looking for a home birth photographer in Chicago, I would be honored to document your unique story and preserve these fleeting moments for generations to come.

Birth has a way of shooting adrenaline through your veins. I have been photographing babies for five years now. Indeed, the elation of birth is still at 100%! As I provide Chicago home birth photography, I got the text message that things were moving early. I was able to get my kiddos ready for school first. It was so calm and effortless. In fact, morning births are pretty fantastic!Their Maternity session

The Calm Atmosphere of a Northwest Indiana Home

Furthermore, I headed to Northwest Indiana to meet Kat and Eric. When I arrived, Kat’s sister was incredibly welcoming. She prepared snacks while we all settled in. Consequently, the atmosphere felt safe and warm. Kat and Eric were upstairs, leaning into the rhythm of labor. I love that I captured Kat’s smile early on. Specifically, it gets tougher to smile as labor progresses. Because of her strength, she made it look easy. Similarly, the support in the room was palpable.

The Beauty of Chicago Home Birth Photography and Support

Kat birthed completely supported by her amazing husband. Moreover, she was able to rest and eat plenty of popsicles. Because she had such a great team, the labor felt deeply intentional. In addition, having a skilled doula made a massive difference. If you are looking for support, I always recommend checking out Evidence Based Birth for great resources. As a result of her preparation, Kat birthed her sweet little guy in the tub after sunset. Similarly, the celebration afterward was just as beautiful. We even popped some bubbly and enjoyed a vegan cake!

Edgewater Newborn Photographer | Baby at Home Hannah + Eric

I believe that one of the favorite parts of my job is the storytelling. As an Edgewater newborn photographer, I have the joy and honor to capture full stories for growing families. I often meet them right when they find out their life will change. Subsequently, I get a chance to see them at different points on the road to that change.

Working as an Edgewater Newborn Photographer

For Hannah and Eric, I know this journey looked quite different. Being pregnant during a pandemic was surely an experience on its own. Still, we managed to capture all of the beauty of this incredible journey they were on. If you haven’t seen them yet, you can take a peek at their Maternity session and their emotional Home birth story. Being their Whole story photographer and more important their Chicago Newborn photographer for this session was the greatest honor.

    Life at Home in Edgewater

Now that they have transitioned from homebirth to a full home, the storytelling continues. As an Edgewater newborn photographer, I love seeing how a space transforms once a baby arrives. The nursery is full, the light is soft, and the connection is deeper than ever. In addition, lifestyle sessions at home allow for a relaxed pace that newborn babies truly need.

Furthermore, I always encourage my Chicago clients to look into local support systems during the postpartum period. Specifically, the Family Connects Chicago program offers wonderful in-home nurse visits. Indeed, having that extra layer of support makes the transition to a “full home” much smoother.

As an Edgewater birth photographer, I believe that each birth I attend is a beautiful unfolding story. While every client and lighting situation is different, first-time parents often share a similar energy. They are all at the precipice of a life-changing moment unlike anything they have experienced before. I can always sense the nervousness and the profound anticipation in the air.

The Experience of an Edgewater Birth Photographer

When I arrived at the apartment, Hannah was spending time in the bathroom, challenge-lit by a single candle. In moments like this, where my lens struggles to find the subject, I choose to freelens. Because I trust that thin slice of focus, I am able to capture the raw emotion of the room. It reminded me of stories I have read before of women birthing in quiet, sacred spaces. Clearly, she craved the coziness of that room, and it seemed to soothe her during labor.

    Synchronicity and Support

I also witnessed a beautiful togetherness between the two of them. As a Chicago birth photographer, seeing a couple move with such synchronicity is a mighty thing to witness. Eric was a phenomenal birth partner. However, Hannah’s vigor and courage were the true stars of the show. She moved that baby down by trusting her body and allowing herself to be completely vulnerable.

Finding Purpose in the Labor Room

Perhaps there is nothing but vulnerability allowed at home births, and that is truly the beauty of them. My job is to capture these fleeting moments. Furthermore, with every birth I attend, I leave with an even deeper sense of purpose. The unique way a mother labors always leaves me breathless. Specifically, a rush of love for life fills me to the brim every time a new soul arrives.

In conclusion, I am so grateful to be a part of these stories. If you are looking for a Chicago birth photographer to document your own journey, I would love to connect. Almost the Same Birthday: An Oak Park Birth Story

I am in awe of this incredible mama. She showed such grace and strength during this session for Oak Park birth photography. This sweet baby decided to make her appearance while I was away in Denver. On my last day of vacation, mama texted me that her water had broken. It was 10 pm, and I had a 5 am flight back to Chicago. I felt so excited for her but nervous that I would not make it in time.

The Reality of Oak Park Birth Photography

Fortunately, things slowed down and I made it home. I had woken up at 3 am to make my flight and hadn’t slept at all due to the chaos of traveling. Around 7 pm, I headed over to join the birth team. I watched as she worked through her surges.

During the night, her amazing team noticed a change. The head midwife joined the birth and assessed the situation. They determined the baby was facing the incorrect way. As a “fly on the wall” photographer, I don’t ask questions, so the details are a bit fuzzy, but I remember hearing the words “face presentation.”

A couple in a bathroom setting, with one person leaning over a sink while the other provides support from behind. Oak Park Birth Photography

Strength Through a Changing Birth Story

Her doula tried several incredible ways to change the presentation manually. Eventually, the team made the call to head to the hospital for a C-section. You could feel the real disappointment and sadness for this mama. She had worked so incredibly hard, but the reality had changed.

This was my first C-section experience. We drove towards West suburban Hospital. While I wish I could have captured the baby’s arrival, I still saw those first moments as she became a mama for the second time. What an honor to be part of this story. This is why I love Oak Park birth photography. It is all magical. C-section mamas, your story matters. As a Chicago Birth Photographer it is my opinion that your birth is just as beautiful.as she became the mama she was meant to be for a second time.
