    Well, a “sorta” routine. I know the Lundes are very intentional, slowly paced people. While newborn sessions can be hectic—and even a little wild—we always manage to capture the beauty of it all. These boys are so lovely and always eager to show me their personalities. We’ve worked together enough now that I think they trust me to just “be.” They know I’m there to capture them as they are, without pushing for more than they can do. I always strive to be patient, letting moments unfold and staying ready to roll with the beauty of childhood.

    The Colello Family Lifestyle Session

    The Colello family is beyond kind and welcoming. Initially, I photographed them in their home with their brand new baby boy three years ago. Recently, they expanded their little family by one sweet baby girl named Lucy. Coincidentally, she is the mirror image of her big brother! Mom told me she felt like she gave birth to the same baby twice. Consequently, it is hilarious to see how similar sibling genes can be.

    It can be a challenge to work with toddlers and a new baby simultaneously. However, I feel like those are my favorite types of sessions to document! Although toddlers can be difficult to pose, they are also so much fun to observe.     The birth day arrived, but unplanned situations occurred. Specifically, Lacy showed the true depth of her strength. She navigated the changes beautifully.     I was invited into this sweet family’s home by a fellow photographer. Notably, it is always such an honor to photograph another photographer’s family. Initially, the prospect makes me slightly nervous, yet I always feel excited by the creative challenge. As a specialist in Wilmette lifestyle family photography, I know that capturing the honest, unscripted moments of a homecoming is a profound responsibility.

    The day prior to our session, we had a snowfall. Consequently, I basically drove bumper to bumper until I reached them in the North Shore. Fortunately, that drive was entirely worth it because they did not disappoint. To this day, they remain one of the most inviting families I have had the honor to meet. Our time together felt effortless and full of light, even with the winter chill outside.

This Wilmette lifestyle family photography session captured the raw transition of bringing a new sister home. Although big brother was more interested in showing me all of his treasures than interacting with his sister, those moments are just as important. Furthermore, you could just feel how grateful and full of love the parents were to have brought that sweet little girl home.

    As an Indiana travel newborn photographer, I live for unique family stories like this one. Meet Margo—or “Sprinkles,” as her mama nicknamed her during pregnancy. Her beautiful family welcomed her into the world, and her big brother, Miles, and big sister, Sophie, already adore her.

    When I arrived for this session, my great friend Christine greeted me at the door. She immediately apologized for the missing house numbers, as they made me search for the right home. Eventually, the stunning baskets of succulents lining the entrance helped me find the house—a shared love of ours!

    One of my favorite, most honest moments happened when Margo decided to go to the bathroom right after a fresh diaper change! It was endearing to watch how smitten Miles and Sophie were with their new baby sister. This is exactly what I look for as an Indiana travel newborn photographer—those unscripted, “real life” moments that tell the true story of your home.

    The fun continued outside the nursery. The kids were incredibly excited to show me their chickens. We explored their favorite spots, and the swing and the garden topped the list. Sophie even gifted me a beautiful, large pear from their tree—an adventure I won’t soon forget.
