A Cozy Session With an At Home Oak Park Photographer

As an At Home Oak Park Photographer, I love capturing families in the comfort of their own homes. At-home sessions allow everyone to relax, which helps the photos feel warm, honest, and personal. They also create a space where real connection naturally comes forward.

A Family I’ve Loved Photographing Through the Years

I have been photographing this sweet family since their oldest daughter was still in her mom’s belly. Our first session together was a maternity shoot near Thatcher Woods in River Forest. Since then, we have met many times, and I have watched their family grow. Because of this long history, walking into their home for this shoot felt familiar and joyful.

The Beauty of Their Oak Park Home

Their home is a classic Oak Park space—full of charm, natural light, and small details that tell their story. It provided the perfect backdrop for an easy and connected lifestyle session. The oldest sister, who is full of personality, brought so much fun to the morning. She laughed, played, and helped welcome her new baby sister. Meanwhile, her parents moved through the session with calm and tenderness, which made everything flow beautifully.

A happy family scene with a man holding a young girl while a woman smiles at them, set in a softly lit room.

Why Connection Matters in At-Home Photography

As a photographer who values real connection, I love moments that feel unposed and true. During this session, those moments showed up again and again. There were soft newborn snuggles, cheerful bursts of toddler energy, and quiet pauses where everyone simply breathed in this new chapter. All of these small interactions came together to create a gallery filled with heart.

Being their At Home Oak Park Photographer year after year has been such an honor. Each session adds another piece to their story, and I am grateful to help them hold onto these memories.

The Loop Newborn Session | Chicago In-Home Photography

A The Loop newborn session should capture the beautiful energy of real life in the heart of the city. Recently, I visited a wonderful family in their downtown high-rise to document their newest addition. Because we were in their natural environment, every moment of this The Loop newborn session felt honest, relaxed, and uniquely Chicago

Capturing a The Loop Newborn Session

I love sessions where the house holds memories and love lingers in every corner. During this Chicago in-home newborn session, we embraced blankets on the floor and giggles between poses. These unscripted moments are the ones families cherish most. Consequently, the images feel like a true reflection of their daily lives.

    Navigating Toddlers and Pets

Big brother was a bit unsure about the camera at first. However, this is totally normal for toddlers! We used plenty of patience and a few snack breaks to find our groove. Eventually, he showed us his sweet personality. He gave gentle hugs to the baby and played with the puppy. Furthermore, including pets adds a heartwarming layer to the family story.

Benefits of a The Loop Newborn Session

Many parents worry about having a perfect house before a shoot. Yet, you do not need a showroom to have a beautiful Chicago in-home newborn session. Your connection and laughter are the most important parts. Because I follow your family’s natural rhythm, the process remains stress-free. In addition, everything you need is already right there at your fingertips.

Elgin IL Newborn Photography | At-Home Lifestyle Session

There is a quiet, sacred kind of magic that settles over a home after a baby arrives. As an Elgin IL newborn photography artist, I feel incredibly lucky to witness this bubble. Many people think of newborn photos as babies in baskets. However, my heart belongs to the lifestyle approach. I prefer capturing the real, unscripted love that happens in your own living room.

The Beauty of the “In-Between” Moments

When I arrived at this beautiful home in Elgin, the energy was very calm. Specifically, this is the biggest perk of an at-home session. There is simply no pressure. We aren’t rushing to a studio or worrying about the weather. Instead, we follow the baby’s lead. If they need to nurse, we wait. If they need a snuggle, we capture it.

These sessions are about more than just a cute face. For example, we document the way your hands look holding theirs. We also capture the light hitting the nursery you decorated. Choosing Elgin IL newborn photography in your own space is a wonderful idea. Consequently, every corner of the image has a memory attached to it.

    Creating a Relaxed Experience

Furthermore, I often tell my clients not to worry about a “perfect” house. The most beautiful photos often happen in simple spots. This might be a sun-drenched bed or a rocking chair by the window. My goal is to make you feel comfortable. Therefore, I act more like a friend with a camera than a formal photographer.

To help you prepare, I suggest focusing on comfort. In addition, choose soft textures and neutral tones. These choices let your connection take center stage. For more inspiration, you can check out [suspicious link removed] for color ideas.

    Capturing Your Story in Elgin

Being a part of this family’s journey was a joy. These early days are a blur of wonder. Therefore, I am honored to help freeze those moments in time. This Elgin IL newborn photography session was special. Ultimately, it was about honoring a brand-new chapter for this family.

Why I Love Being One of the Many Itasca Family Photographers

As an Itasca family photographers know what a beautiful this chicago suburb is. I am always looking for locations with beautiful scenery. In addition, I want a place where kids can truly be themselves. Sometimes my photo shoots are as simple as a walk to the park. During that time, we can easily capture your family’s essence.

    A Recent Itasca Family Session

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a family of five in Itasca, Illinois. The weather was absolutely perfect. Specifically, it was sunny and warm but not too hot. This family included two parents, three young children, and a beautiful golden retriever. First, we spent the afternoon walking around the park. Next, the kids had a blast playing on the playground. Overall, we simply enjoyed being outdoors.

    Capturing the Golden Hour

Early morning light really gives me the best images. This is because we are never in a rush to beat the sunset. Working with three preteens was so much fun. Furthermore, they were all full of unique personalities.

    Why Candid Moments Matter

As a photographer, I love capturing candid moments like these. Indeed, they show the true essence of a family. You can see their love, their connection, and their joy. For example, these photos show the children laughing and playing. Meanwhile, the parents watch over them with pride while the dog runs around. If you are looking for Itasca family photographers who capture real life, I would love to help.

Oak Park Birth Photographer | Abby’s Home Birth Story

As an Oak Park birth photographer, I was thrilled to capture Abby’s incredible home birth journey. When I am on call for birth photography, my backpack is always ready. Fortunately, this was a good thing because this little one arrived very quickly!

I was actually at a networking event when I received the call. Immediately, I headed to Oak Park. My client shared that her water broke while she was enjoying a festival. Clearly, this proves how unpredictable birth can be!

The Call for an Oak Park Birth Photographer

The call came in around mid-afternoon. Suddenly, everything shifted into focus. Abby’s partner called me to say that labor was progressing fast. Consequently, the adrenaline started pumping. Because I have learned to be ready for anything, I grabbed my gear and left right away. Even though Chicago traffic can be tricky, I made great time to the house.

Creating a Calm Home Birth Environment

Walking into their home, I immediately felt a calm atmosphere. String lights twinkled softly while calming music played. Furthermore, the older children were playing quietly nearby. This is one of the most beautiful aspects of being an Oak Park birth photographer. In contrast to a hospital, a home birth allows for a truly intimate and personal experience.

Abby was incredible. She stayed focused and strong throughout the journey. Meanwhile, her partner offered constant support and a gentle touch. Likewise, the older children occasionally peeked in with wonder. I documented these moments discreetly. Indeed, these genuine moments of love make birth photography so special.

    The First Moments of Life

Then, just like that, a new life entered the world. It was pure magic. I captured the first cries and the first moments of skin-to-skin contact. Afterward, I photographed the quiet moments of bonding and breastfeeding. Because these beginnings are so fleeting, I make sure to document every detail. Ultimately, it is an honor to preserve these memories for families.

Montrose Beach Maternity Session | The Adri Photo Co.

Gloomy skies. Trees full of leaves. The scent of flowers in the air. As a Montrose Beach Maternity session, I have seen our city in every kind of weather, but there is something truly special about a quiet, overcast morning. I recently met with a beautiful couple expecting their first baby, and the atmosphere was thick with hope and imagination.

The Beauty of a Montrose Beach Maternity session Chicago Session

We sought out the natural beauty of the city for this session. While most clients hope for clear blue skies, any experienced Montrose Beach Maternity session will tell you that a little overcast light is actually a dream. It acts as a giant softbox, creating a fogginess that was the cherry on top for these portraits. Parenthood is about to become a reality for these two, and capturing that transition in such a dreamy setting was magical.

They spent the morning wondering what their baby will look like and who they will become. It’s that beautiful “in-between” stage where everything is about to change.

Why Book a Chicago Maternity Photographer?

Maternity sessions are more than just a photoshoot; they are a celebration of a couple’s connection. It is often the “last stop” before bringing home a new piece of wonder. As a Chicago maternity photographer, my goal is to capture the emerging motherhood and the deep connection between partners. This couple was so incredibly in sync, and you can read the pure happiness on their faces in every frame.

Whether we are shooting at Montrose Beach or tucked away in a leafy park, these sessions preserve the anticipation and the “juicy details” of your story before the sleepless nights and newborn snuggles begin. I love being a Chicago maternity photographer because I get to document the very beginning of a family’s newest chapter.

Downtown Oak Park family | Urban Fall Photography

Capturing this downtown Oak Park family session was such a highlight, as I love finding urban backdrops that feel funky and full of character As an Oak Park and Chicago family photographer, I love finding urban backdrops that feel funky and full of character. This beautiful blended family was absolutely effortless to work with. Because I have a sibling with a large age gap myself, it was special to visualize what that dynamic was like for my own parents.

First, we started our session near the historic downtown area. Fortunately, the sun was shining perfectly, creating a warm glow against the brick architecture. The wardrobe my client picked was perfect for the entire group. In fact, it complemented the downtown vibe beautifully. One of my favorite parts about this session was the way light really was a paid actor. It was such a beautiful sunny day that shadows and light really played such a lovely role. I love the harshness of light and the backlit.

Why Downtown is Perfect for an Oak Park Family Photographer

Additionally, downtown Oak Park offers a variety of textures that you won’t find in a standard park. While many people choose forest preserves for fall, the city streets provide a unique energy. As a result, we were able to capture a mix of modern and timeless portraits.

The baby girl was so happy throughout the shoot. Typically, a happy baby makes the job feel effortless! If you are looking for an Oak Park family photographer who values candid connection over stiff poses, downtown is a great choice. In conclusion, everything aligned for this gallery. Ultimately, I am so proud of these images and the story they tell of this wonderful family. When planning a downtown Oak Park family session, I always recommend leaning into the textures of the city. We utilized the historic brickwork and the soft, reflective light from nearby windows to create a high-end, editorial feel. Choosing a wardrobe with neutral tones allowed the family to pop against the vibrant, urban architecture of the area.

Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary Family Session | Chicago

Planning a family session at the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is one of my favorite ways to spend a morning in Chicago. Sometimes kiddos aren’t as warm to me as quickly as their parents would want, and that’s okay. Specifically, this little kiddo was a bit apprehensive at the start of our shoot. Because the camera can be intimidating, I always focus on making the session feel like a walk in the park. Consequently, I often hear parents ask, ‘what do I do with my hands?’ To that question, the answer is always to hold someone you love

In fact, I love to photograph connection and movement. For this reason, the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is one of my favorite locations in Chicago. This beach offers so much space for kids to run and feel free. Therefore, it helps them feel much more at ease than a traditional studio setting.

The Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary is truly a beautiful location! Additionally, if you want a mix of wild texture and the city skyline, it is perfect. Because it allows kids to explore the paths, it makes for a very relaxed family session. This family was so kind and sweet throughout the entire morning.

A Sunny Session at the Montrose Bird Point Sanctuary

Even with the initial shyness, this kiddo gave us many cute moments to document. Furthermore, the morning sun provided a stunning, warm glow across the dunes. Overall, it was a successful day in a gorgeous place. If you are looking for a location with the Chicago skyline and a touch of nature, this is the spot. In conclusion, every session in the city has its own unique rhythm. Whether a child is shy or energetic, I aim to document the truth of your family. As a result, these photos become timeless keepsakes for years to come.

Home Birth Photographer Chicago: Home Birth is Here to Stay

Whenever I tell someone I am a home birth photographer in Chicago, they often think I mean “birds.” Perhaps it is a little bit of my accent, or the fact that “th” endings can be hard! Regardless, we usually have a little awkward exchange where I explain that I mean births—humans giving birth.

Their faces always show a mix of awe, curiosity, and concern. This is especially true after I mention home birth. However, it fills me with great joy to do such a unique job. I love that people hire me to create art out of their most intimate moments. In fact, being a trusted part of a team that welcomes a little one is a true honor.

Why You Should Hire a Home Birth Photographer in Chicago

Birth is raw and real. It is a beautiful mix of power and vulnerability. Actually, it is buckets full of vulnerability! I was lucky enough to be hired for this beautiful family’s second home birth. Hannah is an incredible mama and human. Consequently, I was so glad to witness their strength together again.

This second birth was a bit different, and I even managed to get a little nap in! Because birth is so unpredictable, I find that I live for that excitement. I always cry the minute the baby arrives. When you see the relief on a mom’s face, the world stops for a minute. Ultimately, something marvelous just occurred. It is pure magic.

Home Birth Photography is Here to Stay

As a home birth photographer in Chicago, I see firsthand how comfortable families are in their own space. This comfort allows for a level of intimacy that is hard to capture elsewhere. Many families worry about the chaos of birth, but my goal is to find the quiet, steady rhythm within it.

Photography is the best way to have something tangible to hold. Memories of birth can be a blur, but a photograph stays with you forever. In addition, these images become your family’s first heirloom. For anyone looking for a home birth photographer in Chicago, I would be honored to document your unique story and preserve these fleeting moments for generations to come.

    S

Winter is the calm after the busy Fall season. It goes by rather quickly. I’m so grateful for that calmness but I like being in the thick of my client work the most. This year however I decided to embrace some personal work a little more for these restless days. The challenge was quite simple ; capture yourself, one image a day for the month of February. I’ve never done anything like this. To be honest I do care about how I’m perceived, I think anyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves. & honestly this is just screaming I love myself a little too much, for a moment It took on a negative feeling. But when that settled I thought of all of those days when I didn’t love myself, and how l behaved in the moments I lacked self love.

For the first time in my life I truly + completely love every . single. part. of my being. I am intentionally working on not using words like good or bad to describe myself, but what I will say is that anything that I was lacking before is so full to the brim now. Self Portraiture has always been a gift to the artist. These are a gift to me and my children, I know one day not terribly close but in the near future I’ll look different. I’ll feel different. My hope is that my new found compassion for myself only grows.

Today in the middle of my 32nd birth year I am heartbroken, growing, expanding, learning and practicing what I preach. I am a multitude of feelings, I am things I can’t describe yet. Words I can’t find. These images have truly shown me that when I decide to show up for myself great things can happen. While these images may seem ordinary to most there are big connections to parts of me I have or I am in the process of grieving.

I hope you try showing up for yourself

I won’t lie. This has been so hard. I selected the coldest month to do this project, because clearly I don’t think things through enough lol. I just jump right in. That’s me. So I’m desperately thinking of new ways to use my tiny space. Not to mention new ways to see myself. I’m deeply proud of how I’ve stuck with it and I’m now more than half way through this project. It’s so so cool. I have always been the type to lean into the discomfort. & this, the capturing myself daily has been uncomfortable as hell.

I try to close my eyes pop on some Carla Morrison and let inspiration take me where it wants to. I have also let my mind wander, my smiles are genuine, thoughts of my children and other people I love run across my mind and I can’t help but smile and send them light and love always. If you are seeking inspiration in anything I hope you always remember you are always the source of greatness. Start with you today.
