“I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.”
― Mitch Albom
Oh what a sweet and special time I had reconnecting with this lovely family. Just last summer I was present during this sweet baby girl’s birth. Now close to a year after and a whole world of a difference later here I am again. I honestly wanted nothing than to engage with that beautiful baby and get to hug this incredible mama who I’m sure has had a hell of a year. None the less, I am so grateful they are healthy and we were able to make this sweet shoot happen. Big brother E is just as busy as ever, and completely in love with his little sister. I am so exited to keep on following on their journey! and continue to document their love.
It’s my first session back! finally. I can’t believe it. I’m so so happy to be back to work. The time away from all of my clients has been hard but also it solidified that I absolutely love my job so much. This new normal has been so hard on all of us. Harder on others, i don’t doubt. I feel so grateful that I am able to slow down my time and get time to stay home with my kids. I know many essential workers don’t get that luxury. I am planning a giveaway for some of those families.
I photographed this sweet session, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Being confined to a single space is new to me. Also I wasn’t sure how I would accomodate the social distancing and how it would influence my shooting style. I am happy to say that I can manage. I have added some tigher crops in post for a little variation that I love, and maintaining my favorite wide angle shoots. I guess if you’re not a photographer this all means nothing to you. haha, All of this to say, I loved it.
What a time to be a live. I am a true believer that art can always bring some strenght and beauty to any specific moment. The memories of this time will be so rough. But capturing some smiles can soften that up. If you are able to have a photographer capture your family, I highly encourage you to book it. Time is fleeting, even if its the crappiest time currently.

“I realized when you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.” ― Mitch Albom Working on this campain for the different types of families around the Chicagoland area was so insanely wonderful. This newly formed family constist of Mom and her brand new baby girl. I was absolutely […]
Much of our adventures go undocumented nowadays since Im so busy with work and life, I have to make it a point to come back to this. My big boy will be 9 already at the end of the month. How on earth is that possible. It feels like just yesterday I was bringing him […]
Woa I loved visiting with this lovely family that I hadn’t seen since their baby boy was one! Now here he is in his brand new roles a a big brother. Also can I just say that Downers Grove is insanely beautiful. I honestly felt like I was in a different state. I also had […]
These images were taken in September of last year in the beautiful Austin, Texas! it was a session led by the incredible Stormy Solis. Being in charge of a big event like this means I don’t really shoot a whole lot. But this light and beautiful family couldn’t be ignored, plus it was the last session of the day. It is always so much fun to see how other artists interpret the same subjects. I hope to go back to Austin someday and get to explore a bit more of that incredible city.
Meeting new clients is always so exciting. For this lovely session we were all so grateful at the way the weather gave us a huge break, you just never know what you’ll get in November/December in Chicago. If you’re a Local photographers you know how repetitive locations can feel. My client lives in the area so it was an easy decision to go with something more simple. River Forest and Oak Park have a ton of history and strong elemenets to use. In 2020 I want to add more local photoshoots to my portfolio. There’s something about the way your enviroment changes and the images you can capture there.
Have I mentioned what a sweetheart this little baby was? What a beauty. Honestly the Three of them were just so fun to work with.
It seems like just yesterday I was over capturing baby B’s arrival. Time is not our friend sometimes, babies grow up righ before our eyes. I know Christmas and everything related to this beautiful holiday is so very important to this family. From the small ways in which they gather together to the important way they lead their lives. I see all of the beauty represented for them.
Their story began in a a tiny apartment not far from this Wheaton IL tree farm nursery. Also can we give a shout out to the owners of this place, we are so grateful for their inviting ways. It was fitting that we had a session here. They picked a tree then headed for some indoor warmth, a cup of joe, and hot chocolate for the kids. So many snuggles and memories in between. To say that they are some of my most favorite humans would be an understatement. I look forward to seeing this family expand and grow throught the years.
Sometimes lovely sessions happen in the bitter cold. I had the honor to photograph this beautiful extended family, and while I wish it was 5 degrees warmer I think we can all agree that their love comes through so clearly in these images.
I hope you enjoy this gallery.
This year, no scratch that. This decade has been full of amazing surprises. 2019 was such a revelation. It was a huge year for growth and understanding personally, but also a tremendous year for my business. I want to thank all of my incredible clients that took a chance on me this year. I met some of the loveliest humans, but I also had so many families returning with their own crazy changes and growth. Photography can enable us to capture much more than an image. And I am so lucky to be able to do this. Here is a quick blog of my very own little bunch. We thrive on sponteneity and imprefection.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TRUST! HAPPY NEW YEAR HOPE THIS FINDS YOU WELL!
I am so damn honored to have seen this family twice this year. I cant believe how gorgeous and big baby L has gotten. I met this family back early this year as I was a backup for their home birth. They blew me away with their kindness and just how excited they were to wecome the surprise baby. I eneded up capturing his incredible arrival.
Also can I say just how beautiful this sunset was, we were lucky with such a warm October day. The kids had a blast exploring and you can see just how much they all love each other.
I met Lacy at a starbucks with her little family, as they were on the hunt for a photographer. I was honored to have been able to interview with them. From the moment I met her her beautiful positive demeanor just drew me in. We went through our year checking in, I photographed her maternity session, we prepped and got ready for the upcoming birth. The day of the birth unplanned situations occured and she really showed more of her true self. The way she handled the changes were beautiful. I saw a human break down and pick herself up. I saw a partner completely support the love they share, and be there spiriually and physically. & then these photos were two weeks later. Can’t you just feel the radiating love? This sweet baby girl could not be more loved. I love her story! I often think of the times in the future when birth images will be shared, and how inpactful it will be for her, to see the strenght and the love that was shared on the one night in July. Their little union is unbreakable. I cannot wait to see how they evolve, also can we talk about the doting brother. They are just too much !
Birth is powerful, and I am so lucky to be able to capture it. If you’re interested in having your birth photographer click here!
