    This La Grange newborn photography session was a truly dreamy morning. We originally rescheduled our date due to a dreary day, and we were rewarded with the kind of sunshiny, beautiful light that proves light really is everything. It transformed their home into the perfect canvas for the session.

    One of my favorite things as a Newborn Photographer is to capture is the way a new baby brings a home to life, and for this session, that included their beloved dogs! We intentionally used different locations throughout their home to bring some of their favorite Pinterest inspirations to life. It is so important to me that my clients walk away with those sought-after, honest images they adore—the ones that feel like a perfect blend of their real life and a bit of magic.

    Beyond the glow, what struck me most was the quiet energy of their home. One of my favorite things to capture is the way a new baby recalibrates the atmosphere of a room. In the nursery, surrounded by soft textures and that olive-green warmth, this little subject was absolutely delightful.

    We didn’t focus on perfect poses. Instead, we followed the light from the crib to the mirror, documenting the slow, honey-soaked moments of their first days together. This session is proof that when you pair a beautiful home vibe with the right timing, the honesty of the moment shines through.

    When planning your La Grange newborn photography experience, the light in your home plays a huge role. For this family, waiting for a sunny day meant we could utilize the nursery. The olive walls and the reflection in their round mirror to create something unique.

    • Clear the Clutter: You don’t need a perfect home. In fact the more character the better. Clearing off bedside tables or nursery dressers helps the focus stay on your connection.
    • Include the Pets: Dogs are family too! We make sure they are comfortable and calm so we can get those sweet “sibling” shots with the new baby.
    • Trust the Light: Sometimes the best spot in the house isn’t the most decorated one—it’s the one with the best window light.

    A Legacy of Love: Evanston Family Photos at the Lighthouse

    Evanston family photos at the lighthouse have a special kind of magic. This is true when multiple generations come together. As a Chicago photographer, I have documented this family several times. Each session feels like reuniting with old friends. However, this time was extra special. The grandparents joined in to celebrate their legacy. Consequently, their connection echoed through every frame.

    The kids were as sweet and playful as ever. They spent the evening chasing light and sharing giggles. Because of sessions like this, I want to focus on multi-generational photography. These moments remind me that storytelling is about more than one person. Instead, it is about the bond between generations. Watching the grandparents hold their grandkids’ hands was unforgettable. Specifically, it was the highlight of these Evanston family photos.

    Honestly, Erin’s family was the best! It was not about perfectly posed shots at all. Instead, it was all about capturing those genuine, in-between moments. Her partner was very present. Furthermore, you could feel the real love and excitement in every room. They truly made my job as a North Riverside maternity photographer easy.

    Also, we have to mention the pups! Surprisingly, they were total naturals. They just wandered in and out, thereby adding an adorable, unscripted element to the day. Because we let things unfold naturally, we captured the real laughter and warmth of their home. Ultimately, it was not about creating a picture-perfect scene. Rather, it was about capturing the true, candid essence of their family. You could just feel the love filling the room. In the end, that is what made the photos so incredibly special.”

    An Outdoor Start for a Jefferson Park Baby Photographer

    We started at a favorite local park in Chicago, the same spot from their maternity photos. The evening light was beautiful. The mosquitoes, however, had other plans. We quickly realized we needed to move, and headed to their nearby home instead.     Transitioning to a Lifestyle Session at Home

    I did not mind the change at all. In fact, their beautiful bungalow was the perfect backdrop for my work. Capturing babies in their own space is always joyous. Because they are in a familiar place, their curiosity truly shines. Mara’s eyes were full of wonder. Additionally, every new experience was met with amazement.

    As a chicago family photographer, I love seeing how families document these days. I noticed photographs displayed all over their home. Moreover, I could see Mara’s progression from a tiny infant to a little person. I hope this family remembers these days fondly. As a result of our move indoors, we captured some of my favorite nursing and crib moments.
