    This La Grange newborn photography session was a truly dreamy morning. We originally rescheduled our date due to a dreary day, and we were rewarded with the kind of sunshiny, beautiful light that proves light really is everything. It transformed their home into the perfect canvas for the session.

    One of my favorite things as a Newborn Photographer is to capture is the way a new baby brings a home to life, and for this session, that included their beloved dogs! We intentionally used different locations throughout their home to bring some of their favorite Pinterest inspirations to life. It is so important to me that my clients walk away with those sought-after, honest images they adore—the ones that feel like a perfect blend of their real life and a bit of magic.

    Beyond the glow, what struck me most was the quiet energy of their home. One of my favorite things to capture is the way a new baby recalibrates the atmosphere of a room. In the nursery, surrounded by soft textures and that olive-green warmth, this little subject was absolutely delightful.

    We didn’t focus on perfect poses. Instead, we followed the light from the crib to the mirror, documenting the slow, honey-soaked moments of their first days together. This session is proof that when you pair a beautiful home vibe with the right timing, the honesty of the moment shines through.

    Preparing Your Home for a La Grange newborn photography Lifestyle Session

    When planning your La Grange newborn photography experience, the light in your home plays a huge role. For this family, waiting for a sunny day meant we could utilize the nursery. The olive walls and the reflection in their round mirror to create something unique.

    If you are looking to bring your own Pinterest inspiration to life, here are three tips:

    • Clear the Clutter: You don’t need a perfect home. In fact the more character the better. Clearing off bedside tables or nursery dressers helps the focus stay on your connection.
    • Include the Pets: Dogs are family too! We make sure they are comfortable and calm so we can get those sweet “sibling” shots with the new baby.
    • Trust the Light: Sometimes the best spot in the house isn’t the most decorated one—it’s the one with the best window light.

    As a photographer, my goal is to document the “soul” of your family. Whether it’s a quiet moment in the crib or a sun-drenched cuddle on the rug, these are the frames that will tell your story for years to come.

    After a Beautiful Birth, a Beautiful Baby

    Let me be frank: I completely fall in love with the families I work with, even if we only work together once. I always go back to so many of the galleries on my page because I’ve been so fortunate to work with incredible humans. However, when providing Chicago lifestyle newborn photography, my birth clients hold a very special part of my creative heart. Witnessing the transition from pregnancy to parenthood is a high honor.

    Seeing my clients in that post-birth newborn baby bliss is always full of questions for me! I want to know everything. “How is baby, how is mom, what did you think about the birth, how do you feel?” I try not to be too overwhelming, but the transformation is just so incredible to witness. The cute little babies have changed in every possible way, but the woman who gave birth is someone else entirely. The couple is changed as well; dad is more protective, and something beautiful activates in both of them.

    Why I Love Chicago Lifestyle Newborn Photography

    From the maternity session to the birth we worked together, J & P completely embody love. In all of our sessions together, they were swooning over each other. I know that little baby girl is so completely lucky to have been born into this “love bubble.”

    Our Chicago lifestyle newborn photography session together was beyond cute. The little baby girl was certainly bigger and so awake—they were completely in awe of her. Seeing J give birth, I was in awe of her. I was also so glad she invited her parents to be a part of the session; I am incredibly passionate about grandparents being photographed. It adds such a rich layer to the family story and shows the deep roots of love surrounding the new arrival.
