    A Session Close to My Heart

    What a stunning Light-Filled Newborn Photography session this was. Every newborn session is special, but this one tugged at my heartstrings even more. As a Chicago newborn photographer, I usually spend my days photographing families right here in the Midwest. But this time, I had the joy of capturing my very own nephew during a family visit to Fresno, California. Being able to photograph the people I love most is a gift I’ll never take for granted.

    Morning Light, Giggles, and Disney Magic

    The morning of our session was dreamy full of golden light streaming into my brother and sister-in-law’s cozy home. My niece (a total Disney lover at heart) kept us all laughing with her songs, twirls, and endless chatter. Honestly, she brought her own kind of pixie dust to the day, making the whole atmosphere light and fun. I am obsessed with this light.

    The Beauty of At-Home Newborn Sessions

    What I adore about lifestyle newborn photography is how relaxed and natural it feels. No rushing, no pressure just a family enjoying their time together in the comfort of home. From tender newborn snuggles on the couch to those sweet, quiet moments by the window, every photograph captured the love and joy surrounding this little guy. How cute is my nephew.     A Familiar Home Filled With Memories

    Being welcomed back into this beautiful family’s home was such a gift. I first photographed their son’s newborn session in this very space, and now I had the joy of capturing him with his baby sister. As a Chicago in-home family photographer I love seeing families grow and documenting each new chapter in a place that feels meaningful and familiar.

    Planning a Chicago In-Home Family Session

    The day was perfectly sunny, and their immaculate home was full of warmth, art, and character. Every corner reflected their style, creating such a cool and inspiring backdrop for photos. The children laughed and played with a gorgeous wooden horse, and the natural light streaming through the windows made the moments feel even more heartfelt and timeless. I never remember the neighborhood my memory is truly not the best but this one is one of those special ones in Chicago for families. I would move here so fast.

    What I loved most about this session was the effortless energy. These siblings were absolutely adorable, big brother showing his playful side and baby sister lighting up the room with her presence. After capturing some candid moments indoors, we headed out to a nearby garden and then wandered over to a local park. The children ran, giggled, and soaked in the sunshine, giving me endless opportunities to capture their joy. They truly made my job so easily, when clients lean into imperfect moments of joy. It creates the perfect conditions to capture them authentically.

    Sessions like these remind me why I love being a Chicago in-home family photographer. There is nothing more special than documenting genuine, candid moments that reflect the heart of a family.     I was invited into this sweet family’s home by a fellow photographer. Notably, it is always such an honor to photograph another photographer’s family. Initially, the prospect makes me slightly nervous, yet I always feel excited by the creative challenge. As a specialist in Wilmette lifestyle family photography, I know that capturing the honest, unscripted moments of a homecoming is a profound responsibility.

    The day prior to our session, we had a snowfall. Consequently, I basically drove bumper to bumper until I reached them in the North Shore. Fortunately, that drive was entirely worth it because they did not disappoint. To this day, they remain one of the most inviting families I have had the honor to meet. Our time together felt effortless and full of light, even with the winter chill outside.

    The Beauty of Wilmette Lifestyle Family Photography

    Specifically, I love documenting families in their own spaces because that is where the most honest stories live. This Wilmette lifestyle family photography session captured the raw transition of bringing a new sister home. Although big brother was more interested in showing me all of his treasures than interacting with his sister, those moments are just as important. Furthermore, you could just feel how grateful and full of love the parents were to have brought that sweet little girl home.
