Birth Photography at the Burr Ridge Birth Center A Year of Connection

There is something truly special about birth photography at the Burr Ridge birth center. Specifically, I have had the honor of following this beautiful family for a full year. First, we started with a soft maternity session in the beauty of Lake Michigan. Eventually, we reached the amazing moment they welcomed their new baby.

From our first meeting, I noticed their calm energy. They connected with their daughters in such a gentle way. Clearly, they were ready to welcome another soul into their home. Because I watched them grow for twelve months, this birth felt like a highlight of my year. Baby was late then all of a sudden it felt like baby was here. If you closed your eyes you missed him.

    The sweetest birth surprise

When the big day finally arrived, the air was full of excitement. Because the baby’s gender was a surprise, the room filled with joy when their baby boy arrived. I truly love capturing those first breaths and happy tears.

Furthermore, seeing the look on a parent’s face is the best part of my job. These moments remind me why I love my work. This story of new life shows a pure and honest connection. In fact, it shows the shift from a family of four to a family of five perfectly.

A Beautiful Birth at Burr Ridge Birth Center

The Burr Ridge Birth Center is one cool space near Chicago. I love that it serves as an in between space. Fore those moms wanting more security and freedom at the same time. I’ve seen nothing but truly remarkable birth experiences here. First, the space is quiet and very pretty. Additionally, the kind midwives help with every birth. They offer a level of care that makes the whole day feel safe and special.

As a birth photographer in Chicago, I feel lucky to see these raw moments. Such events remind us how important new life is. While every birth is different, they all show great strength and love. This day was a perfect reminder of my goal. Therefore, I work to save these memories through birth photography at the Burr Ridge birth center. By saving these short moments, families can keep the magic of their baby’s birth forever.

Chicago birth photography | Strength and Surrender

Chicago birth photography is about more than just images; it is about capturing the raw essence of a family’s transformation. Recently, I was invited back into a familiar birth space. It is always a massive honor to witness such a sacred chapter. From the moment I arrived, a quiet strength filled the room. This mother carried herself with a calm focus that radiated through every single contraction.

The Beauty of a Planned Home Birth

I believe that birth reveals hidden layers of resilience. This mother embodied that truth fully. She remained steady and grounded throughout the night. Her family supported her in a tender and intentional way. Consequently, the energy in the room stayed soft and unhurried. Second or third births often carry a unique mix of wisdom and surrender. Because they have walked this path before, there is a settled confidence in the room.

Capturing the Unexpected with Chicago Birth Photography

In a surprising turn, the rhythm of the room shifted suddenly. One moment we were preparing for hours of work. However, the next moment, the baby was earth-side in a wave of urgency. Furthermore, the surprise of how fast it all unfolded left us all in awe. These fast-paced moments are why Chicago birth photography is so vital. Birth refuses to fit into a neat timeline. Yet, this mother remained resilient. She leaned into the intensity with remarkable grace.

What to Expect from a Birth Photography Experience

If you are considering Chicago birth photography, you might wonder how the process works. My goal is to be a “fly on the wall.” I use quiet, professional gear that performs well in low light. This means I can document your story without being a distraction. In addition, I am on call for you starting at 38 weeks. Whether your baby arrives at noon or 3 AM, I will be there to preserve those first breaths.

    Preparing for Your Birth Session

Preparation is key to a stress-free experience. First, we will have a consultation to discuss your birth plan. Moreover, we will talk about what moments are most important to you. Some families want the crowning captured, while others prefer to focus on the first skin-to-skin contact. Regardless of your preference, my priority is your comfort. Because every birth is different, I always remain flexible and adaptive to your needs.

Why Documentation Matters for Your Family Legacy

Every birth story is a unique masterpiece that deserves to be remembered. In addition to the big milestones, I love capturing the quiet details. These include soft whispers of encouragement and those very first breaths. Because these memories can become a blur in the haze of the postpartum period, having a visual record is a gift. You will be able to look back and see just how strong you truly were.

Book Your Chicago Birth Photography Session

Whether your journey is calm or high-energy, your story is worth preserving. I offer storytelling bundles that capture your entire transition into parenthood. These include maternity, birth, and newborn sessions for a complete narrative. If you want to learn more about Chicago birth photography, I would love to connect. Let’s document your beautiful journey together and create something you will cherish forever.

Riverside IL Birth Photographer | August

Eeek! I’ve been wanting to share the home birth of August for a while now. As a Riverside IL birth photographer, I am often asked what it’s like to document such an intimate space. Admittedly, I’ve been so busy enjoying life and capturing so many beautiful families lately, but at last, I can finally show you the magic of this day!

I photographed Mr. August’s entrance into the world earlier this month. Specifically, it was such an honor to be there for this incredible family. They recently moved back into the area to be supported by family. Consequently, it was fitting that so many lovely people were there to welcome the baby. When I say it was a party, I mean it in the best way possible!

A Supportive Riverside IL Birth Photographer Experience

In fact, it also worked out that my client’s sister happened to be in town just when she went into labor. That house was full of love, coffee, cute kiddos, and that energizing vibe that keeps a birth centered in positivity. Furthermore, you can truly see my client and her husband’s devotion to one another in these images.

Having been around them during their maternity session, I already knew they were deeply connected. As a result, he was present and supportive every single step of the way. Additionally, I love when older siblings are able to witness the way humans come into the world. It is a beautiful reminder of what is possible, and I am sure it is a memory that sticks with them forever. To be clear, women and birthing humans are hella strong—no “ifs,” “ands,” or “buts” about it.

The Peaceful Arrival of Baby August

Ultimately, in the calmest, most peaceful way, Mr. A arrived onto his mother’s chest. Minutes later, her oldest son learned that he was indeed correct: he had another brother! Immediately, there were tears and joy everywhere in the room. Maneuvering through the slippery tub and water, Dad met his new son and exclaimed how AMAZING his wife was.

Truly, Sarah is a goddess. She was so strong throughout her journey, and her positivity was infectious. Because she fully trusted her body and let go of control, the birth was a beautiful process to witness. Overall, it was a massive honor to capture these moments for them

Almost the Same Birthday: An Oak Park Birth Story

I am in awe of this incredible mama. She showed such grace and strength during this session for Oak Park birth photography. This sweet baby decided to make her appearance while I was away in Denver. On my last day of vacation, mama texted me that her water had broken. It was 10 pm, and I had a 5 am flight back to Chicago. I felt so excited for her but nervous that I would not make it in time.

A close-up view of two individuals standing on a staircase, with a focus on their bare feet and legs. A safety gate is visible at the top of the stairs. Oak Park Birth Photography

The Reality of Oak Park Birth Photography

Fortunately, things slowed down and I made it home. I had woken up at 3 am to make my flight and hadn’t slept at all due to the chaos of traveling. Around 7 pm, I headed over to join the birth team. I watched as she worked through her surges.

During the night, her amazing team noticed a change. The head midwife joined the birth and assessed the situation. They determined the baby was facing the incorrect way. As a “fly on the wall” photographer, I don’t ask questions, so the details are a bit fuzzy, but I remember hearing the words “face presentation.”

Strength Through a Changing Birth Story

Her doula tried several incredible ways to change the presentation manually. Eventually, the team made the call to head to the hospital for a C-section. You could feel the real disappointment and sadness for this mama. She had worked so incredibly hard, but the reality had changed.

This was my first C-section experience. We drove towards West suburban Hospital. While I wish I could have captured the baby’s arrival, I still saw those first moments as she became a mama for the second time. What an honor to be part of this story. This is why I love Oak Park birth photography. It is all magical. C-section mamas, your story matters. As a Chicago Birth Photographer it is my opinion that your birth is just as beautiful.as she became the mama she was meant to be for a second time.

Home Birth Storyteller Chicago | Angela’s Beautiful Overnight Birth

A Beautiful Night for a Home Birth in Chicago

Oh, what a privilege it was to be present as a home birth storyteller in Chicago during this amazing overnight labor. This was the first time I joined a family through the quiet hours of the night, and Angela’s strength was truly awe-inspiring. She was one of those incredibly peaceful birthers; she totally blew me away with the way she rocked this birth.

Specifically, to say it was eventful and beautiful would be an understatement. There was chaos and so much uncertainty when it came to getting the water ready for the birth. But then, that sweet baby girl emerged and nothing else mattered. Consequently, the mood shifted from intense focus to pure joy in an instant.

The Magic of Documentary Birth Stories

The big sister was woken up right before her baby sister made her debut. Even though Angela was working through a contraction at that moment, the smile on her face was contagious. I cannot say enough how much she amazed me. Although she had incredible support, her partner really takes the cake—he was helpful and awesome in every way.

Ultimately, I truly fell in love with their family dynamic. Because I value preserving these visual legacies, being a home birth storyteller in Chicago is about more than just the delivery; it’s about the quiet support and the raw emotion in between.

Elk Grove Birth Photography | Gemma’s Heartwarming Story

As an Elk Grove Birth Photography business, I am sharing my first ever Birth session. This birth story has opened a brand new door for my creativity. The excitement has not worn off yet. I received a text at 3:00 PM on Friday after a long week of uncertainty,  I was worried I might sleep through the big moment, although I think most birth photographers feel that way. This was the first birth I ever photographed. As a result, I felt incredibly lucky that this beautiful family chose me. I cannot describe the love and devotion in that room. Instead, I watched Jason support Sarah as she worked hard to bring their baby earthside.

Only dad and the big brother knew the sex of the baby. Initially, the big brother hilariously told everyone it was a boy instead of a baby girl. He watched his mother give birth to his new sister and saw firsthand how strong she is. Sarah finally took a peek. Ultimately, she felt elation when she realized she had a baby girl.

Documenting Your Story with Elk Grove Birth Photography

Elk Grove birth photography captures a quiet, powerful strength. I aim to document the real experience of your delivery. I look for the morning light, a partner’s supportive hand, and that first breath. These moments happen quickly. A documentary record gives you a permanent gift to keep forever. Like Sarah’s beautiful maternity session being such a gift forever.

Planning a home birth or a hospital delivery? Documenting these unscripted moments helps you stay present in the emotion of the day. You can see more of my documentary style on my Chicago birth photographer landing page. I share more about my philosophy on capturing these milestones there. Welcome, baby Gemma. She was nearly ten pounds of perfection and is already so loved. Take a peek at her gallery below. Whether you are planning a home birth or delivering at a local hospital like Alexian Brothers Medical Center, having those moments documented is a gift to your future self.
