    River Room Chicago Wedding — A + L

I first met A + L at Loba in Chicago. From that moment, I knew their River Room Chicago wedding would be unforgettable. We shot their engagement session at Garfield Park Conservatory, and they were adorably awkward in the best way. I couldn’t wait for wedding day.

I pulled up on a sweltering summer day. True to form, my ADHD had me forgetting the AC liquid. Classic. My second shooter met me there, and we got straight to work. Together we explored the grounds and introduced ourselves to the team. The venue feels so Chicago a busy street nearby, the river out front, and the city just living its day in the background.

    Morning Details

The vibe at The River Room at Burning Bush Brewery was immaculate. We photographed everything the florals, the dress, and those stunning little Prada kitten heels. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready on-site surrounded by her mom, future mother-in-law, and sisters toasting, laughing, and soaking in the morning. Across the city, my second shooter was with the groom and his groomsmen celebrating A before he married the love of his life.

River Room Chicago Wedding Ceremony & Reception

The ceremony was everything. Emotional, full of laughter including A trying to sneak a kiss early. The flower girl nailed it. The florals were breathtaking, with an organic path full of texture and character.

The reception was pure joy dancing, toasting, good energy all night. L changed into a fun second look, and guests took home Loba’s incredible mole chocolate croissants. If you know me, you know I’m dancing between shots and this crowd made that very easy. The whole night, even as I worked the joy was so contagious. It is easy to see how loved all this couple is. Being the Chicago wedding photographer who shot this special celebration, was such an honor.

A + L, thank you for letting me be part of your day. It was stunning, just like I knew it would be.

Garfield Park Conservatory engagement | Romantic Chicago Session

Are you planning a Garfield Park Conservatory engagement? Even though the Chicago wind was cold, Lauren and Aaron were full of warmth. We stepped into the tropical rooms. It felt like entering a different world. In fact, their Garfield Park Conservatory engagement reminded me why I love my job.

Stunning Chicago Engagement Photos in the Fern Room

The green leaves of the Fern Room were a perfect backdrop for these Chicago engagement photos. However, their smiles were the best part of the day. We walked through the glass houses together. I loved capturing their joy in every room. For instance, we stayed in the Desert House for a long time. The light there was soft and pretty. Consequently, the photos look like a dream.

Why a Garfield Park Conservatory Engagement is a Smart Choice

Chicago weather is hard to predict. Therefore, an indoor spot like the Conservatory is a smart choice for your session. You get to see nature without the cold wind. Additionally, the different rooms offer many styles. Because of this, your gallery will have a lot of variety. Lauren and Aaron were so relaxed. Indeed, their love made my work feel easy.

Planning Your Garfield Park Conservatory Session

Keep a few things in mind for your own portraits. First, check the rules for permits before you go. Second, try to pick a weekday. This helps you avoid big crowds. Furthermore, think about what you wear. Neutral colors look great against the green plants. Ultimately, the goal is to have fun and be yourselves!

    Finishing Your Day in Chicago

After your session, you are in a great part of the city. There are many local spots to grab a coffee or a drink. This is a great way to celebrate after finishing your Chicago engagement photos. Taking the time to relax together makes the whole experience feel like a date. I always tell my couples to enjoy the moment. In conclusion, your engagement is a special time that deserves to be remembered forever.

Tips for Your Garfield Park Conservatory Engagement Photos

    1. Permits: Always check the current permit requirements for professional photography at the Conservatory. It’s best to book your time slot in advance to ensure your session goes smoothly.
    2. Timing: The Conservatory is a popular Chicago landmark. Scheduling your session on a weekday morning can help us avoid the largest crowds.
    3. Outfits: Since the Conservatory features lush greens and desert tones, neutral colors or soft pastels look incredible. Consider a dress with some movement to capture the romantic energy of the space.
    4. Explore the Rooms: Don’t just stay in one spot! From the humid Fern Room to the arid Desert House, each room offers a completely different vibe for your portraits.
