I photographed the beautiful Guzman extended family in Oak Brook this past fall, it wasn’t a terribly cold day but it was cold enough. Thankfully teens seem to not feel any of it ever. It’s quite funny. I will be brutally honest that showing up to a session full of Gen Z kids was intimidating to say the least. But they were so funny and kind and just allowed me to do my job easily. I’m sure so many of them were gently nudged into this session. Perhaps they don’t see the value in these images yet, but that absolutely will. Of that I am sure.
Capturing big families is a workout. I have to move fast, I have to keep a record in my head of the images I still need to get instead of the smaller families that move a little slower. Big crowds get restless. Thankfully this isn’t my first rodeo.
